For sales professionals, especially those on the grass root level, LUCK is necessary. How much ever hard work is put in, How much talented you may be; but if Luck doesn't favor you, you are gone !! How many of you agree and how many don't agree ??

Sorry but I complitely disagree with you, its the smart work  By working on  ASK (ie.Attitude Skills andKnowledge) that make one successful in sales. the more you know about yourself, your product/service, and when you develop never give up attitude, then you can convet Impossible into Possible. then you dont need any luck to support you for the same. its your confidence that will  get sell,

Once upon time i too use to think on the similer lines, but failed misrabely, then slowly as i stared working on my presentations, success ratio started to grow drastically.

One simple suggestion, sell what you have but from customers point of view. as end of the sale, customer buys what he wants and not what we want to sell him.

That's not always true. Real success is achieved through hard work, smart working habits and dedication. Sometimes and only sometimes luck does play a part in many situations but in all honesty you need more than luck.

Sometimes if you're not seeing success you have to take some time out to thoroughly look at your situation, strategically think about things and develop a solution. If you aren't seeing any success you have to see what's holding you back, where did things go wrong etc, etc...

Luck is not for everyone. You have to be smart about things, put in some work, strategically think about things and get counseling for your situation.

I completely disagree with this statement....

Sales is the art of convincing people. Luck has nothing to do with sales. The only thing you need to do is to approach the right person with the right product. For that you should know your product well and search for the target market.

Without proper planing and strategy any lucky person can be unlucky !!!
