when ever our computer gets corrupted due to any reason or when ever u want to format the system then first of all we have to shift our data in some other computer for complete formatting and all this shifting procedure in possible in office and institutions only where there are more than 2-3 computers but not in home so how can we format our computer without the fear of our imp data

Hi interesting debate.......

Yes nowadays data's are not safe in hard disks. We need to look for some other place like the cloud space. We know that the cloud computing is finding its place and people started storing their important data's in the cloud space. So lets hope cloud to be the future space for storing.....

:)

reallly todays need even not much of data can be saved in mail but ther shud be some data sfety disk which sholud be not formate even if new window is installed Cloud computing may become popular some day but it requires expenses. Solutions may also be to get a "hard-disk

Dear Mohammed Abdul ji

this is not a funny debate if have the solution rather than cloud computing then tell b'coz i think cloud computing is also not safe b'coz internet is also not be there for 24 hrs tab kya hota hai jab kabhi kabhi internet doen hota hai

well you think about any external disk but i know all external disk like external hard disk , pen drive or any other thing these are not safe at any moment

safe hai to bahoot zyada but nahi hai to bilkul bhi nahi but if we go to some very different place think which thing is till last long after the corruption of complete hard disk then also i think we have one special space where we stored data which can not be depend on any OS or any DISK

For data safety a good database and experienced DBAs are necessary,,for any company. Grid computing and cloud computing can be a good choice.

Dear Dharmendra singh you are absolutely correct that when ever we install any operating system then only one file extention is available by the default in all Operating Sytem that is notepad and no other software is availble in the new machine

so if we find some new place which can also be run with out operating system them then we can send our all data on a single click and after the corruption of hard disk or even formating the hard disk we do not need to worry about the data

from that new place only we can easily got our data and trf to our new hard disk very easily

Yes, all of us is very much concerned for safety of our "data" which might have been built with manpower, time and expenses.

Cloud computing may become popular some day but it requires expenses. Solutions may also be to get a "hard-disk (or so ) back-up" each day and re-write the same every-day after close of day's work.

By-the-way, has "Monica Computer" some other way as best solutions ? You may tell us here on TooStep.

A typical desktop machine will have a hard disk with a capacity of between 10 and 40 gigabytes. Data is stored onto the disk in the form of files. A file is simply a named collection of bytes. The bytes might be the ASCII codes for the characters of a text file, or they could be the instructions of a software application for the computer to execute, or they could be the records of a data base, or they could be the pixel colors for a GIF image. No matter what it contains, however, a file is simply a string of bytes. When a program running on the computer requests a file, the hard disk retrieves its bytes and sends them to the CPU one at a time.

There are two ways to measure the performance of a hard disk:
1-Data rate - The data rate is the number of bytes per second that the drive can deliver to the CPU. Rates between 5 and 40 megabytes per second are common.

2-Seek time - The seek time is the amount of time between when the CPU requests a file and when the first byte of the file is sent to the CPU. Times between 10 and 20 milliseconds are common.

Data safety is more on other device rather than HDD. But the most important for the data safety is installing the data encryption tool on all the servers and devices so that no one can read it even if they get hold of data files / drives.

Hey....be Cool!!! Monika Computers, Thanks for all. I didn’t said that cloud computing or external had disk is 100% good or perfect, just I said this are the source's which are much better rather than others.

If really data mean to the particular user then he can point/map his data to the Datacenter, where they can give you the 100% guarantee.

Hi Leena, of course cloud computing is coming up with all advantages but I think you cannot found privacy and apart from that every cloud computing sites are now becoming payable, so common people cannot go to it. by doing all this things I agree to keep another external hard disk apart from built-in disk and just keep safely from all kind of damages and virus/bad clusters that’s enough

Very funny debate...Every where you will find the hard disk, tape drive or other kind of disk all are called as a disk to keep keep your data, just just what is attached to your PC or Laptop that is not called as a hard disk.

Rather doing all this things, like  having 2 or more computers and so on, just simply keep USB another hard disk but not the builtin hard disk
