In India, when congress declared that a new state Telangana will be created from AP.
Everyone in India started to discuss about the creation of small state, is creation of small state is good for India ? or is creation of small state is bad for India?
Many Indians opposed this creation of small states in India by giving many reasons.
Following are the few reasons why people oppose the creation of small states.
• Creation of small state will divide India
• Creation of small state will take the India to pre British era
• Danger from China, china wants to divide India.
• Small states in India are not making progress , Chattisgarh and Jharkhand
• Small states Depend on Central Government
• What is the guarantee that small states will make the progress?
• Politicians want to become the chief Minister or for the political power.
• Hatred Among state will increase
• Election vote should be counted who is defeated

Like these I am sure there are many more reasons to oppose creation of small states.
But I still I say and insist that Creation of small state is good for India.

States should be created primarily for administration purpose. The other reasons are supplementary. The recent bifurcation of Andrhra Pradesh is a standing testimony to this. The state was formed on the platform of language - Telugu. But when the administration could not deliver, the demands of Telegana arouse. It is time to move on from linguistic formula and slowly introduce states that are formed with view of administrative purposes.

Making small states in no way going to improve the quality of life of the people. It only increases expenses which in turn will increase taxes. I also make poor economic and social order.

States are only administrative units. This is one country. This nationalism has been spoiled by the reorganization of states based on languages in 1950s. The state politicians are speaking and acting as though they belong to a separate country; and also promote hatred towards the people of other states. The selfish objective of creating separate empires for themselves goads the politicians on the destructive path.

The smaller the states, the administration will be better and in all likely hood the number of BPL families may come down.

It is a good idea to look at the idea of a re-organisation of states. May not need large scale changes. It is important to redraw boundaries in a way as to create smaller states. This could help administration wise. It could also create a level playing ground for all states in the Central government in Delhi.

Convert all districts into states. If there is more demand, then convert all divisions/sub-divisions of the district into states.

Its good. Division of work to systems. Think that governance will directly become responsible and it ll affect to common man. See now where is Bihar, Chhattisghar and Jharkhand. Fabulous development.

Yes, small states will perform better. Now Chattisgarh, Jarkhand and Uttarakhand are growing like super past train, if look its growth rate in last 10 years (formation date). their growth rate is more than the Indian growth rate and its parent state.

Our democracy works like this - one head of the state, then other elected members, run the state with the help of IAS officers and bureaucrats.
When the state is big, those officers and elected politicians, law makers are not able to watch carefully every project and how the money is utilized by everyone in every project.
Today budget of Government is becoming so big that common people find it difficult to understand, and even studied accountants find it very difficult to understand and find out the mistakes.
If common man does not understand the budget How he can participate and keep watch on the politician to stop the frauds and mistakes done by politician
When state is small, if any government employee or law maker or politician will do the fraud, immediately it will show the effect on the other projects as it will become very difficult for that chief minister to bring new funds or hide his black deeds.
Just take the example of classroom of 100 students and classroom of 25 students, so in this case which classroom will be easy to manage and give the results.
Today as our states are big, many times villagers from remote places even find it difficult to reach the place of district court, forget about the High court of state.
When small state will be created it will give easy access to high court.
Small state means small government, small budget, and small departments, very less chance to show fingers on each other by saying that, that department is not doing the work so file is pending.
Small states will create competition among each other; this competition will be with the same mother tongue speaking language population.
Because of big nature of states today indirectly the law maker, politician has become the king of that particular area.
Because of this honest people will rarely get chance to rule the state or to get elected.
Small states will not give chance to politician or law maker to hide his failure or fool the people by saying that this time we have given funds to west or north, as small state means the population will know in real what is happening in every part of his state.
Big states does not benefit towards saving money ,but the nature of big states help to waste the money as well as it gives unlimited scope to do corruption which benefits to the law maker or politician.
In small state if any politician will amass wealth, the people of that state can easily notice that and will know how he is earning and making the money, this will help to expose the wrong contracts and his hidden property.
Even Indian constitution has article 3 which favors and talks about the creation of new state. It states that -
. Parliament may by law admit into the Union, or establish, new States on such terms and conditions as it thinks fit.
If party who support the creation of small state does not win the election this does not mean that the people of that district do not want separate state. The election is held to choose leader ,MP or MLA and they do not vote for the creation of state. Even if when there is not 100% voting how can it become the will of that district ?
Our constitution of India does not have this provision, to get the peoples vote to decide regarding the creation of small state . The ball is ,power is with the parliament.

States are only administrative units. In these days of e-governance, there is a strong case to bring down the number of states and reducing the expenditure. It is only the politicians who want to keep the Indian citizens divided on the lines of religion, caste, language, region and class, mainly to create and preserve their own empires, mislead the mass and go on dividing the states. For this they also exaggerate the federal aspect of our Constitution beyond limits and do not hesitate to claim division of sovereignty of the nation, which is absurd. Making small states in India is bad.

Making small states will not in any way contributes to the increase in productivity or increase the wealth of a region. It only increases the administrative expenses. CM, Chief secretary , Chief Engineer, More corporations and Boards, High Court etc etc. Thus dividing one existing state to two will double the administrative expenses for a region. If we abolish all states and make one country then we will save lot of money that could be used for infrastructure development. All peoples representatives are also white elephants. We can govern this country without them, with just a parliament alone

Small states are better from administrating point of view & achieving regional aspiration. USA has less than half population compared to India but they have 50 states & they are the number one country in the World!

The creation of smaller states leads to 1. Higher expenditure 2. Imbalance in revenues leaving undeveloped area starving for funds and other part with heavy funs 3. Imbalance due to river water sharing, if water giving state is baiased and partisan the agriculture will suffer leading to shortage of funds. IN UNITED(uNDIVIDED STATE)  RIVER WATER IS ALLOTTED JUDICIALLY BALANCING THE REQUIREMENT OF ALL REGIONS.

States should be formed by taking above points into consideration.

There shold be POPULATION LIMIT so that viability is there for new state. Revenu, population, expected revenue, prospects for future should be taken into account before taking decision.

Finally it should not be political decision It should be for the welfare of people.

Definitely it is not a good proposition. There are various problems associated with creating smaller states. Forget administrative nightmares, there will be problems with implementation of tax and its collection and distribution, distribution of central welfare and other schemes besides security concerns. Integration will also be a big problem. Division of existing plan expenditure and budgetary allocations are other headaches.Once the floodgates are opened for smaller states, there wont be a limit to the number of claimants and people will start claiming on ethnic and religious lines.

no, this kind of creation of state is not required.more states mean more headquarters, officials, government bodies etc, which will lead to only mere waste of money and land.moreover, the main reason for me to emphatically disagree from the creation of state is that this creation of state by consistent protest, strike, threatening will send wrong signal and instigate the people demanding bodoland, gondwana to use such measure. we have much issues to tackle than these divisions like insurgency from china, pakistan, threats from west.these divisions will ultimately take us back to british raj.. i am very sad on this..

It is not required,Jharkhand and Chattisgarh are not growing as much as Uttarakhand. If we exclude Gujrat then Bihar has grown more than any new or old states in India. Bihar's GDP is only next to Gujrat since last few years. New states will bring more assemblies and more leaders which would be another cost to the nation. What we need is better leadership and decision makers who can focus on development than breaking of states in several parts.

It's easier for the people living in big cities and metro's to comment on smaller states.I think creation of smaller states should be demand of the people living in that particular area...because it's only they, who know what is better for them. And yes,i don't understand why are we talking about division? why aren't we talking about the developments as an example in the smaller states!!!

On one side, we as INDIANS talk of UNITY.. and then u talk of dividing the states into parts.. this will infact break the unity of INDIA as a nation and its an invitation for more internal problems within the states..

how you can eliminate one part of your state, which is not good... for ex. a mother has a child whose kidney is not functioning well so will she put him aside for more damage????
