Mandatory skirt rule fair for India shuttlers?

The Badminton World Federation (BWF) has introduced a new dress code, which requires all female shuttlers to wear skirts from May 1. Players may continue to wear shorts if they wish to but it has to be underneath a skirt.  BWF's new rule is a step to glamorize badminton like tennis . Is that the way of adding glamour? Is this rule fair?

This rule takes away the liberty, the freedom of the player and compulsion of rules have never been a good idea.

Well, if you can wear shorts under the skirt, then whats unfair in the decision? Even if it was a bikini, it would still have no impact on the privacy, because the shorts rule still exists to protect the players' privacy.

Skirt rule may have been imposed to bring in more audience without damaging the player's privacy. And that seems OK resulting in win-win situation to both the players and the spectators. So now whats the fuss about?

"Dress for the job" is the dictum. A swimmer dress for swimming, wrestler dress for wrestling event. Have we said anything on this?

Dress code is prescribed by Sports council/Federation & players are to follow it.It is the basics of discipline in Games/Sports.

May this be due to rejuvenating the spirit of Badminton & to create a trend among players. Why to worry so much.Enjoy the thrill of game.

Liberty, publicity,game ,rules.compulsions,gimmicks are all the parameters that play a role in today,s game of politics and money making.The society at large should decide on these and more the courageous shuttlers mind to accept it or not matters.Its is more personal that official.

This is not fair as it is interference in some ones private life. It is against fundamental right of the players, they should be free to wear they want according to their culture.
