Indian Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh has decided to hold a high-level meeting on May 30 with the aim to review the highways sector performance after delays have been witnessed in achieving the target of constructing 20 km of road per day.
Delays have become common everywhere..construction of Bangalore metro has delayed so terribly that it is costing 50 lakh rupees of the tax payers everyday..But will PM's review meeting fetch any results?

This Review in the month of May is going to be significant because of the significance of the month of May for the two ex-Prime Ministers of India , Grandfather and Grandson , Late Jawaharlal Nehru and  Rajiv Gandhi , respectively .

Late Nehru  had said that the Prime Minister's Post is not a bed of Roses while Late Rajiv Gandhi said that he wouldn't  conform to Traditions !

But , Late Mrs. Indira Gandhi had said that  except hard work , there is no magic wand !

Thus , Time is very costly and Ideas are still costly .

When we all work with one another , we do find Roses as well as Thorns for one another .

A Review could be a Verification  to  close the  Performance .  A Review could be a Verification  not to revise the Decisions already made or a  Verification  not to  make new Decisions  or  a Verification  not to even  review the Decisions already made !

Moreover, India is not alone in Independence but a Member of the United Nations. As such , Highways are deemed Global in importance in remedying the unfavourable uncertainty that it is always worthwhile to stage competition of various  approaches and viewpoints . Global can be neither a conflict nor a neutral but a principle of guaranteed gain .

Being +ve is always the mantra for success. But if you are in the soup, then only you know the taste. We need to have some methodology wherein one should be answerable for any act. That would inculcate some sense of fear amongst the corrupt and Kaamchor authorities resulting to output.

In B'lore, Mr. Eddy finds time only to go between Trupathy & Vaishanevdevi to get blessing to hold on to power. How do you expect his state minister for highways will execute the works to the expectation?. PM review may be a normal process of stock-taking the present position on the Highways.

Thanks for referral Mr. Pragya Kothari.

He is such an in effective Prime Minister that his taking initiative will be of no use to any thing. Its just an eyewash in light of the anti corruption campaign brought by Baba Ramdev & others. Before doing nay reviews, he should first mend the Ministry of Forest for pre constn. clearances in environment and other sectors as well. There is no will power of the ministries involved in to the whole episode. even the MORT&H is also under staffed and overloaded, but who cares?

India's Prime Minister can not walk alone on any highway. With the convoy of 20 vehicles following, including Ambulances, fire brigade, do you think he would be able to make any assessment without creating panic among the villagers! We can call ourselves as a free country only when our Prime Minister visits people "incognito" to understand the grievances of our people (first hand information) and is free to take action. Our leaders can not make any statement without getting the nod from the high command. Even if its given, you can expect "U Turn" almost immediately. Even the "in camera" versions they claim are manipulated!

I agree with sanjay nothing happen but his so called named govt. had started some action,if free hand to be given to him other than politics (which is not his cup of tea yet)and likely burocrates also did`nt make it any difference because one he was a part of them which he knows they can`t this to be happen as in vajpay`s government.

it shows three things: 1. He has realised he is PM of the country and should remind everybody about it. 2. He has no foreign tours right now 3. Sonia has given him some free time to do his work 4. He is learning from telecom license experience
