I support this side since the marketing in rural India needs the both for more successful and effective penetration. No doubt media campaign helps to facilitate the awareness of the products which alone can not make the sales in large measures. Thanks Mr.Namrata for the referral.

As Mohan said, rural people believe in seeing, so I support both Demonstrations and Campaigns. Showing Ad films will do better.

If want to reach in Media Dark Areas, than we can reach through BTL promotion and campaigns, Media reach in rural and small towns is low, hence we can reach rural mass by various BTL activities at various strategic locations in rural. Its not they understand by demonstrations only we can show ad film also to make them understand. Various innovative media tools have been implemented in the rural campaigns.

As there is no choice for "both", I am posting in both choices. Marketing (whether rural or urban or any place) depends on a number of factors - the proposed coverage / market of the product, the financial muscle of the producer, the nature of the product, etc., etc. Nowadays, there is not much difference between rural and urban areas - what with TVs, radios, internet, etc., being available everywhere.

Yes I agree with Mr. Mohan. Media can only highlight the efficiency of the Item. But, it is the demonstration & scheduled campaign pursue the illiterate or little literate mass to the the efficacy of the item & its use in every day life. Seeing the operation(Demo) makes them more confidence in buying.

Marketing in rural, area demonstration and local campaigns is a must to get identification in the consumers vision. It is the cheapest and best weapon to get immediate effect of the process. The consumers too have good knowledge of the product. The response of the system will effect immediately, whereas other types of systems will take long time to get result. The managers first aim to hit the market with availability of the stock to know the pulse of the consumer.
