Some also assume the role of managing your entire life's influences etc. Why does this take place? And how can they taught to mind their own business?

Yes Tina Finally one has to take an independent & well informed decision pertaining to Matrimonial Decisions and should not forget beyond Love there is a Life. Nothing wrong in getting family & friends opinion. But ultimately decision should be his/her.

It is always best to take a decision with your family by your side. However, more than who takes decision; on what grounds do you say yes and no matters. In simple words, if your value system does not match it becomes really difficult to adjust. People find it really difficult to change their value system. In short, your idea of what is right and wrong about life in general is what is called value system. Family can be wrong and the individuals involved can also be wrong. So more important is why do you want to stay together with the other person for the rest of your life. A really interesting topic to discuss though :-)

i support to the independent decision making ,as the final decission should be from the individuals , provided the decisiion from the individaul should repect the parents thoughts about their children, this is my view in this regard..
