Unfortunately Human Nature is such that just because an Individual rises to a Government or Diplomatic Post - it does not eliminate those who would take advantage of the position. Greed, Extreme Political Views, Dependence on Drugs or Alchol, etc., can be a weakness applicable to any Individual. In my experience Diplomats and other so called " Important " Peple are given far too mauch latitude and should be subjected to exactly the same procedures as the General Public - perhaps with a greater degree of Privacy but certainly Not Leniency. present

it should not be..security does not know that incoming people is deplomat or what...they are doing their duty..if deplomat is authentic, no need to hesitate from fromcheck up. we can take an example of banking, even CMD come to branch for their transaction banking ppl dont hesitate to ask for authentication of CMD. another example is even while chairment enters his office ,security scans his belongings indirectly.what it means?? it means law is equal for every one and we should support....

In a time honored protocol of interactions between nation states, diplomatic immunity is non-negotiable. As a nation India has been bearing the brunt of terrorism far longer than US. If we were to subject american diplomats to a similar 'pat-down' there would be hue and cry. While some participant in this debate have talked about Indian slip shod counter terrorist measures, the US customs act cannot be justified. Israel which has been under attack from over 60 years of its existence and one never hears about visitors being harassed at Israeli Airports. India as a nation needs to learn from China, who for reasons right or wrong would not even appreciate its dissident accepting Nobel Peace prize and launched a major tirade on countries supporting the award. If we will not stand up for our right, who will? We as a nation have a long history of tolerance. However its about standing up to what is unjust and a time we as a nation did a Satyagrah.

I agree with your views completely, Mr.Mohammad Bakhsh Ji. The several incidents on various occasions shows their nature of arogance and humiliating Indian delegates and diplamats. Our govt should take necessary steps to avoid such occurence in future. In case will it repeat, we should not enter/travel to the country as a show of our protest.

Security checking should be applicable to all. What if a terrorist acts as a diplomat with the support of fake documents or if a terrorist organization influences a diplomat through threat or by offering money to pass arms or other destructive materials to their person in the country.Safety of the people of the country is more precious than the small inconvenience to diplomats

(1). How can somebody say that diplomats will behave "the right way" all the time? (2).It is because of this kind of security that United States did not have a single incident of terrorism after 9/11 (3).Honestly, the diplomats should be happy that they are secure rather than make an issue for being patted down

I entirely agree. Look at our state of affairs. Anybody can enter the Parliament. Our security and Intelligence are absolutely corrupt and hence inefficient - bowing to political pressures. An example is the Varanasi blast - the accused could have been caught 2 years back but Congress and SP Political figure did not allow Cops to capture him. We need to appreciate that all have to be treated equal and should be subject to security concerns.

It is not correct way. It's just ego problem and Racism. By this way, if they can safe, daily many cases of terrific attacks are still happening at USA, too. Many times, they succeed to prevent due to high technology and awareness of public. we are not having still that awareness. As a Indian, we believe more in trust & respect to others, that is not in culture of American. We should appreciate & encourage our Military, Police, Intelligence and government to still keep safe second largest population of world. we should rectify our system by our own.

it is right that the treatment given by the officials to the diplomats was not appropriate but why not we are ready to see the other side of it, how they are keen on making their country safer at any costs & i think that the Indian govt. should learn from this & get the act right by strengthening our security systems.
