Microsoft to launch windows TV: Has the word Windows got lost in today's times??

Microsoft is reportedly announcing a Windows-based set-top box, according to the Seattle Times.  The set-top boxes will cost $200 and use Windows Media Center, the platform for its desktop TV capacity, as its primary interface. 

But somehow Microsoft has lost its thunder lately with Google, apple and Facebook which has stole the show from the Internet accessing products, now even windows word seems loosing ground in today's times.  What do you think guys, Has the word windows got lost in today's times??

Yes, thats why we are seeing Microsoft coming up with products like windows 7 phone, and now windows tv...it really doesnt matter for consumers if microsoft is attaching windows name to every of its products, untill and unless the product is not good then consumers simply wont opt for it, but that is not the case with Apple and others, they are coming up with products which are game changers whereas microsoft are just copying and nothing innovative there. so windows 7 phone, windows tv I dont think it will work out for them.  Even their IE is loosing ground all over the world against chrome, firefox and opera for that matter.

Any company that tries to enforce its products through unfair means will never survive. Thats what is happening to windows today ! How long will it survive by enforcing its windows platform on other PC manufacturers ?

After the exit of Bill Gates, it is not surprising to see MS losing ground against some of the very best in their domains...in fact, MS' IE gained popularity not because of its capabilities but because of its marketing tactics at the expense of its potential competitor - netscape - and later tried to gobble up AOL which failed of course. I am not denying MS' ability to innovate, but its path breaking innovation is beginning to result in heart breaking renovations...Today probably it may have windows mobile 7 but tomorrow onwards we may have another andriod that may blow your mind off thats even better than windows 7...MS is no longer a window to the world...rather it can best be described as a door slammed shut...i mean, you know why...

Old is gold. The technological development is always a continuous process. Windows is getting updated that's all.

No,It's still tough to introduce new thing in INDIA at least it will take some time . although changes and development of technology is a must but in present senerio windows has it's importance.

no still in india as i know more the 50 % of the people ,students think computer means windows..!!! so it should be the same in whole world .... most of the companies use windows in their companies so still its good enough...!!!!!!!!

Technology is growing & finding newer application in windows mode is a business strategy, to sustain its base. On this ground, finding TV application on Window mode , no way  is depicting its lose of / messing of concept.
