Microsoft unveils its new windows phone: will it eat up iphone and Google's android market share?

I guess smart phones  is the current flavour, and every company wants to harp-in, in this segment, but the dominant force here is the iphones, the palms, the blackberry's and the Androids, but Microsoft chief Steve Ballmer on Tuesday unveiled a line of Windows smartphones in an offensive against Apple's iPhone and Google's Android system.  And somewhere around 30 types of "Windows phones" with various designs will be available by the end of the year in more than 20 countries.

Seven phone-makers, including Sony, Samsung and Toshiba, and 16 operators including Orange, Vodafone and T-Mobile, are involved in the launch.

Till now windows mobile phone haven't seen that kind of success the way iphone and google's android has, and this time Microsoft with its windows 6.5 phone they are thinking that they can give a real good fight.  So what do you think people will this Windows phone give any trouble for iphone and the Androids that are out there.

I don't see Windows 6.5 version giving anykind of trouble for that matter, windows mobile was a failure with earlier versions like the 5.0 and the 6.1, but it survived with the help of HTC or else windows phones would have been pretty much dead by now and in that regard the iphone is really a good phone which has tremendous applications easy to navigate and everything looks great and other players with Android software, mobile phones like Motorola and others are  going for Android, i don't see windows creating that kind of impact where it will threaten iphone or the androids.

Windows is best only for PC and not anything else, they entered the mobile phone market but they miserably failed, and i don't know why Mr. Ballmer is repeating it even after they know when they can't do anything with their windows mobile phones, the new 6.5 version has nothing new to offer, the text messaging looks way out of sync and pretty much everything is complicated here.  Microsoft will not even come close to iphone and Android for that matter.....
