Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) MLAs beat up Samajwadi Party's Abu Azmi on Monday in the the Maharashtra state assembly for flouting Raj Thackeray's diktat of taking the oath only in Marathi. The incident occurred when the SP leader started taking the oath in Hindi at the swearing in ceremony when legislator Ramesh Banjle pulled the microphone from the podium where Azmi was standing. Azmi had to run for safety even as MNS member Ram Kadam slapped him and hit him on the face and chest.

So, dear friends, do you think whatever happened was a correct thing?

Come on, its a state assembly not a national one. One should always respect the local language of the state he is in. It would have been more better had Azmi been given the lecture in Marathi rather than in Hindi. It would have helped him in getting more appreciation and listeners...

No, not at all. Whatever Raj Thakrey is doing is clear cut regionalism and this will divide the whole country in the name of language. We are already fighting with religious discrimination. Now, if regionalism also comes, our unity will be nowhere and any foreign power can overtake us. Also whatever happened in MNS, regarding that I would say only this much that how can a Hindi speaking person take oath in Marathi? Even Alagiri took oath in Tamil...Azmi wants to learn Marathi not because of Raj Thackeray's fear but because he want to understand the Assembly proceedings better. But the behaviour MNS is showing will bring bad name to Marathi people in the eyes of all the Hindi speaking people.

Raj Thakrey clearly knows that he can't do anything substantial in state politics. He can't be Balasaheb Thakrey, he can't beat congress, which is a national party again emerging stronger. So, he is resorting to such tactics. India is a free country where anybody can speak the language he or she wants to speak. Hindi is not the paternal property of UP or Bihar, it is national language. By disrespecting Hindi, they are not only disrespecting the national language but the nation as well.

such an act poses big question that does the law and order aren't big enough to tackle these political hoodlums.why the authorities are mum against such regionalistic attitude of a political outfit.i think more than MARATHI MANUS babble a regular citizen want a safe and clean city to reside in ..why MNS doesn't direct their efforts towards upliftment of poor (or those in drought hit villages )who are crying for someone to help  them..does MARATHIS lives in cities only where they are active. if they really want to work in the interest of marathis they should reach out to all sections.foremost,INDIA IS ABOVE ALL be it maharashtra, punjab or bengal...

I am not biased but i guess once in a while tit for tat works in teaching such goons like the thakerays a big time lesson. Marathi is not a national language of India. We are Indians and any thing related to government and country should be done in Hindi and not the regional languages.

Whatever happend yesterday in maharashtra state assembly is nothing but crossing the hooliganism limits my MNS people. If on one hand MNS can force people to respect local language then on the other hand they have no right to dis-respect our national language HINDI. High time we had a dictator. One side we are thriving to compete with the world and be among the most successful, advance and powerful country and on the other hand we are not out of petty issues....

had Marathi or Maharashtra  been oriented by this bastard politician.....Raj Thackrey..or his Goondas.....?

All biasness on the basis of religions, castes, systems, creeds, regions could be ended.....if this world can see two viruses , i.e. Priest and Politician.

Let me tell you ......these two communities have hanged the soul of humanism to death on this earth..

Be Alert and Aware and raise your mental bars.........and with open eyes see .......what is happening in the world.
