Flying is learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss that's what technology teaches no matter how much we say it uses we abuse it to the fullest in my opinion mobiles are a menace just as equal as mp3 players and ipods too but we should a food for thought that doing so we should also encourage to make it a habbit that their privacy in not hindered but a simple setup like mobile jammers will have no calls or text simply a paper weight but even after that the cell companies are equal responsible when it comes to their marketing strategy the should not allow sale of sim cards below the age of 18 just as they have made stringent the rule of proper documents think and reply please.

Usage of mobile phone should be restricted, if not totally banned. Mobile phone are not actually required by students. If students/parents says they want to remain in contact, then school/college should decide about the standard and type of mobile, as they decide the course and books. Otherwise it should be totally banned.

I suggest mobile phones should be given for a reason and not just to flaunt it. Today`s children dont respect the value of their parent`s hard earned money and its a big concern. I got my first mobile when I got my first job and it was because of the reason as I was going to stay in altogether new city. So mobiles should be given if its really a need and not to make a timepass.

mobiles these days is not merely the form of telephony that it used to be. hence it would be more of distraction & tool for pranks than a tool for e-learning. a definitely no no for use in schools. i completely agree to sheetal's view point

Mobile per se is over abused by even adults and in aggregate it has worsened quality of life by over dependence on avoidable communicitions in place of organised living with time and inclination for spending time with yourself and books.

Mobile should not become a part and share the book's space as it is just a medium of distraction as the student don't need to attend any important call as every working individual/ professionals do. If there will be any sort of emergency call then it can be made in the school office. By allowing to use the mobile will simply hamper the school environment and will be mostly used by the students for mischief/ misuse. It can be used as a medium of education for them and it is rightly said for Ms. Sheetal that if the school really wants to improve the education level then they can go for various technology such as Projectors, Laptops etc.

Firstly, the usage of mobile phones by the age group has to be checked. I do not think that students use their mobiles for "informative purposes". Secondly, they create a nuisance value by distracting the students as well as the teachers. Thirdly, let's go back 15 years from now and check the importance of mobiles in the school life and then compare, if they are really necessary. Just because everyone around, today have mobiles, it doesn't mean that students should carry them to their school. Well, if the security reasons are a matter of concern then they can switch them off while entering the school and back on when they leave. I don't see any academic use of cell phones as such!

what i feel that mobile phones should not allowed in schools. If they allowed then it cause a great problem for children as well as teachers, when the child at its school level there is no necessity that child should have a cell phone. It will stop child mind to grove in a right direction and child always deviate from its studies. Teachers also find very much tough to mind the class or the behavior of the children.
