Whatever one may say, the fact remains that any service that has the remotest element of utility will sell. Even if the customer base does not swell to bloated expectations the service provider will be able to make a neat profit. By the way all the debate above on how telecom companies are struggling to break even is so much hogwash. If that were true no entity in its right mind would invest in astonishing proportions. I consider myself the father of wireless communications in India as I introduced the first ever wireless communication network in the country through a paging service in Bangalore at a time when the government of India had not even formulated a policy on wireless communications. Believe me, I know for a fact that the telecom companies are making profits as no other industry can. If any company worth its salt is not making money then it is due to the fact that they are spending stupendous amounts of money on infrastructure that is not entirely necessary and setting up palatial offices with a work force & salaries that truly are not required. Given a chance I can prove this with performance.

It will be success as people now a days don't want to miss any action / news happening around the world...
There are mobiles in which you can play multimedia files (movies, video songs etc) and people prefer to buy those...If that can be a success then mobile tv will be success...

YES MOBILE TV WILL BE A SUCCESS....And it will target/attract the gents/male more than ladies because now male can enjoy their own show in mobile then watching boring TV series... :)

We are very far from thinking of mobile television in India. First of all we need to improve the data connectivity and it's popularity. How often people are chekcing email on their mobile phones?

Mobile cant fulfill the TV's requirement....if one could be happy with 3 or 4 inch. display then why do we need LCD's and Plasma's of 32/40/42/50 & 60 inches display. Also Internet is already solving our urgent requirements like....live updates and streaming of Sports, News and Businesses...so I think it would not be a big or even a hit.

At a period when we are all in a life of runwning & jumpin it is not worth to have movies or tv shows in the mobile. It would have been better for those who r homemakers and stds. The idea of keeping oneself updated with the current happenings of the world may be made by just watching the news in the mobile

Having worked with mobile TV's, I can say its hardly as those 90's movie flick fantasies where it seems unreal to watch video in the palm of your hand. In 2days age of HD, and plasma, who would want to watch a flick on a 5 inch screen... and if u want the news, the fm's always there.

It will for a short time but in the longer run it will loose its charm . It will be a privelege only for the unemployed who can avail this facility even in daytime doing no work. likewise no employed would spare time to watch tis nuinsance on such small screen save the cricket matches. On road nobody in his right senses can do so .So it all concludes u have to be at home to do so and who would leave his 32" and trouble his eyes on 4".

To me, TV is more of a thing that i watch at home which is the plain old television, it should be a habit of a thing to watch it and should not become necessity at all the times, and it will interrupt work in between if one is always hooked on to it in different forms like mobile tv. So mobile television is not for all. And it mainly depends on individual choice.
