I think this will be a very good debatable topic as there are several factors why people think that this innovation will be a success. Prior research shows that people are interested in mobile television, especially while on the road. But to make mobile television succeed, providers will have to deal with a few issues like technological constraints and smart price settings. They also have to be innovative in how they bring mobile television to the market. Furthermore, mobile telecom companies will have to deal with the fact that people will use their phone less and less for calling, so they will have to find other ways to bind people.  So what do you think will Mobile television be a success?  Share your thoughts on this...

According to me yes it will be a success, as people want more and more features on their mobile phones, people are not satisfied with what they are having, and they want always to be connected to the recent happenings in the world and Mobile tv suits the bill for all those who wants to be connected all the time...But then it all depends on the vendors how they provide the service...

As most of the people prefer television only at leisure time, I don't think so that this will retain the charm for long, as may be people to like at the time of travelling as many of us spending our time to travel from home to office or vice versa, or during some interesting sports going on or during lunch time. But at home no body will prefer to use mobile as Television media as the impact a big screen can generate that can't be feel on small one.

This is really tough to survive in the edge when the home theatre or LCD big size screen are gaining more popularity and attraction today. And I think there will be again few small technical thing to be consider as how much battery life it will take and many other technical issue will need to take care.

As said by one of my fiend that people would access TV in the leisure time, but now a days the generation is busy mostly in traveling & half of the day is spent in office,so in that case Mobile TV would be preferred & of-course The craze of TV can't be withdrawn.

Whatever one may say, the fact remains that any service that has the remotest element of utility will sell. Even if the customer base does not swell to bloated expectations the service provider will be able to make a neat profit. By the way all the debate above on how telecom companies are struggling to break even is so much hogwash. If that were true no entity in its right mind would invest in astonishing proportions. I consider myself the father of wireless communications in India as I introduced the first ever wireless communication network in the country through a paging service in Bangalore at a time when the government of India had not even formulated a policy on wireless communications. Believe me, I know for a fact that the telecom companies are making profits as no other industry can. If any company worth its salt is not making money then it is due to the fact that they are spending stupendous amounts of money on infrastructure that is not entirely necessary and setting up palatial offices with a work force & salaries that truly are not required. Given a chance I can prove this with performance.

It will be success as people now a days don't want to miss any action / news happening around the world...

There are mobiles in which you can play multimedia files (movies, video songs etc) and people prefer to buy those...If that can be a success then mobile tv will be success...

YES, mobile will be our nxt computer....Well some mobiles do have features like computer but with TV on Mobile it will be a MOB-COMP-tv which I think will be a great success with people doing their business work as well as enjoy news, films , cricket match that are broadcasted...

YES MOBILE TV WILL BE A SUCCESS....And it will target/attract the gents/male more than ladies because now male can enjoy their own show in mobile then watching boring TV series... :)

We are very far from thinking of mobile television in India. First of all we need to improve the data connectivity and it's popularity. How often people are chekcing email on their mobile phones?

Mobile cant fulfill the TV's requirement....if one could be happy with 3 or 4 inch. display then why do we need LCD's and Plasma's of 32/40/42/50 & 60 inches display. Also Internet is already solving our urgent requirements like....live updates and streaming of Sports, News and Businesses...so I think it would not be a big or even a hit.

At a period when we are all in a life of runwning & jumpin it is not worth to have movies or tv shows in the mobile.  It would have been better for those who r homemakers and stds. The idea of keeping oneself updated with the current happenings of the world may be made by just watching the news in the mobile

Having worked with mobile TV's, I can say its hardly as those 90's movie flick fantasies where it seems unreal to watch video in the palm of your hand. In 2days age of HD, and plasma, who would want to watch a flick on a 5 inch screen... and if u want the news, the fm's always there.

It will for a short time but in the longer run it will loose its charm . It will be a privelege only for the unemployed who can avail this facility even in daytime doing no work. likewise no employed would spare time to watch tis nuinsance on such small screen save the cricket matches. On road nobody in his right senses can do so .So it all concludes u have to be at home to do so and who would leave his 32" and trouble his eyes on 4".

According to me I don't think it will be a success Mr.Abhinav maybe in the initial stage people would love to watch tv on their mobile phones but they will get back to television later.

To me, TV is more of a thing that i watch at home which is the plain old television, it should be a habit of a thing to watch it and should not become necessity at all the times, and it will interrupt work in between if one is always hooked on to it in different forms like mobile tv. So mobile television is not for all. And it mainly depends on individual choice.
