As i written earlier, mobile will definitely replace pc and loptop ( here replacement mean, in term of function which pc/laptop can perform ,todays mobile handles all these basic function) . mobiles not only perform function of voice and data communication but handles thousands of other functions without any extra hardware, not only replace pc/laptop but definitley replace some other electronic devices in next future. we know number of mobile users are more than number of pc and laptop users, this number difference is increasing day by day. As in india mobile communication comes in full trend only after 1995, and only in 15 years the development is in front of us. While computers are about 50 years old but this type of development never seen in the case of computers. In Iindia this year mobile market is approx rs 40,000 crores ,you can imagine calculating this figure while considering all countries. One very true argument to support definitely replace is---- All the current development is carried out on HOW THE PC AND LAPTOP FEATURES CAN ACHIEVED ON MOBILE, its vice versa i think not in this swing.

There are 20.31 million mobiles users in India till March 2010. If we take a look on the fact on top 5 uses of PC 1. Emailing - 91% 2. Job Search - 72% 3. Instant Messaging and Chatting - 70% 4. Check News - 57% 5. Check Sports - 53% All these facilities are enabled on Mobiles, with attractive data plans from the operators. Again the device manufacturers are designing mobiles which will ease life of the users e.g blackberry, Nokia, Micromax, Karbon etc.... Again if we take a look on the products launched in the PC/laptop segment they are becoming more and more smaller and mobile e.g. ASUS eeePC, HCL myleap, HP mini etc... with few of them might come with facilities of inbuilt datacard... So if the world is moving towards mobile devices so their is no reason why can't mobiles take over PC's... Comments appreciated

I agree with Mr.kabir said.. We can do lots of things simultaneously on PC/Laptop but we can't do this with mobile phone... Yeah today there is some OS supported mobile is available in market and we can use it any where but they are only for instant work.. If you have a lots of work to do then PC/Laptop is best...

mobile can not be replace laptop, because you need big screen to perform data entry , playing games, watching presentations. besides keyboards are more convenient than key pad!!!!!

i agree with the point that Cell phone like black berry and office version e series of nokia are continously increasing RAM ,Internal memory and providing more fuctions witch could be only done on desktops and laptop. But Cell pHones have limitations witch will never allow them to replace laptops or desktops 1.Macro VS Micro Component:Desktops and laptops have Macro (bigger in size)components whitch allows them to work for last long period ,in other words life of the laptops becomes longer because of macro components then that of mocro components of mobile. 2.Problems faced by mobile if used for longer period like laptops:Hang ups,Heat up,Malfuctioning of copmonents 3.Operating system:The OS or opetrating system of mobile can can't work that efficiently as that of os of laptops.Specially the java os . Still there are number of problems witch could be never overcom by mobile beacuse of thier small size ,and if the size is increased in any case to meet the problems then that moble never reamains moble ,rather it become laptop.

for a decent view of a office software or CRM or anything that is useable on move , at native resolution of 1200*800 a 12"-13" screen suffices properly and also that size of laptop supprtos DVD writer and a good layout of KEYBOARD. Netbook type of things only work if you just want to demonstrate what you have created(or data you have). When that can be supported in Mobiles that can be used as a PDA. Till then Mobiles remain smartphone, where 3" screen is enough. On Mobiles support to connect (USB or PS2) keyboards and mice and a inbuilt screen of 12" with attached optical drive can make it equivalent to computer.
