I strongly feel that Moral education should be part of primary school curriculum for the simple reason that things learned at the primary level are etched in our minds forever.

Moral eduction is necessary both in home and school. A child should learn moral education from each and every step of each and every subject he studies. This will build his character and in long run, a good and responsible citizen of the country...

When additionally school also teaches moral education it has a good effect on kids. Whatever you teach at home, what is taught in schools by teachers has a bearing effect on kids.It will remain in them for ever. ( for ex. However you teach something in a diff way on some syllabus to make it easy to understand ,kids will insist that whatever way the teacher taught is the correct one) Morral values at home is a on going and continous process to make a living person human. Its part of parents basic duty.

Moral education in school is a must. Moral education sets the basics right for the future of the child and in turn the country. The morally educated children are more conscious and have a different (positive) approach. Children are by nature pure, sincere, and eager to learn. If the schools/colleges impart the moral character building values effectively, the purity of the students can be maintained and enhanced. Absorbing the moral values at an early and receptive age, will be very beneficial for the youth, and will in turn ensure that India has a shining future!

When I was doing my study in school, there was one extra subject known as Naitik Shiksha (Moral Education). This was not related with any religion but the thoughts, stories etc of great peoples whom we normally accept as ideal persons, were included in this subject. Observing the increasing graph of indiscipline, voilence, corruption etc. in our day to day life in whole world(percentage may vary from country to country), I feel that Moral Education should be added in primary education. such type of education in early childhood will certainly make our future generation a human being of good social quality. It is my view and I request the members to give their valuable opinions.

Moral is a derived value and can not be a subject, I hope .... If not, let us try to write syllabus for the subject called - moral. The entire syllabus will cover either same topics of History. We would fail to write syllabus because 'moral' is a derived value of 'Failures'.(In case of failures, its referred as Moral and in case of successes, its referred as key Learnings). So, I support arguements of both Varshaji and Yogendraji - The learnings should begin at home. In kannada it is said - "Maneye Modala Paathashaale" (The home itself is the First school and Mother is the First GURU.)
