I support your views Manik and I really appreciate the time you have taken to analyse the feminine polling trends thats beginning to pose a threat to the masculine community here. Certainly, the fairer sex has got more than their fair share of the polling results and views, esp. the ladies here who have uploaded their best(est)-sorry for selecting the wrong degree of superlative here - snaps and are getting invites every other day from their male counterparts. But lets accept the fact here - be it anywhere - in restaurants, debates, on the road, in the bus or even in office - they are attention seekers who can turn even a stiff-necked head to 360 degrees. But on the whole, its not the case everywhere. Suryanarayan Murthy's posts here are also really attracting my viewers with his fantastic comments/insights. So ladies/girls, beware!

Let's see what happens at toostep: http://toostep.com/debate/is-there-very-few-opportunity-in-finance-field See what Diya has written in her argument. It lacks facts & figures and no explanation. Still ranked no. 1 as 7 people voted for her. -------------------------------------- Similarly, http://toostep.com/debate/has-india-marched-towards-the-tag-of-developing-nation-over- Why people have voted Taniya's argument as top one? Others have written much in detail and with facts. No one supported any other's argument. -------------------------------------- http://toostep.com/insight/9-rules-of-innovation-from-google No. of comments = 1. vs. http://toostep.com/insight/a-must-read----difference-between No. of comments = 30 Feminine factor attracts..!!!

I have seen few gentlemen doing it but it hardly matters to me as long as i dont do it. I have my own view about topics some people may agree to it and some may not that is quite normal.Though i agree that it happens but i dont have any figures like percentage of men or women to support it.

Fact remains - YES though the trend is more on social than professional site - where there is more of a reverse trend. Its a matter of mutual acceptance to feel good about giving & receiving comments. The trend can stop when women can project themselves more as professionals than as females. Sexist? - I leave it to the readers to have a honest perception.

Gender bias is an age-old phenomenon across the globe. Some get kick when discussing about the opposite gender for no rhyme and reason! Generally, such topics should be avoided in public domain! Toostep is not an exception - we have seen many of them - the recent one being "to lead a life, do we need wife", etc., generating fair amount of criticism and insinuations among the toostep members!

Yes, It is true. Majority of the males write their opinions & views on female posts, It may or may not be an interesting topic to answer and male discussions attract least attention and comments.
For example, any status message shared by a male vs. a female on Facebook and any topic initiated by a female member in toostep, females usually get much more no. of responses even if the same topic/idea/discussion is shared by males.

Depends on the kind of networking site we are talking about. Toostep or Linkedin. People madly run behind the HRs of Big Companies and Big Corporates, they donot see Male or Female. Yes some entertainment based sites focussing on such gender biased promotion do have such influence, but they are not joined by people who know legitimate use of internet. Facebook is mostly for friends and peers, and promotion of the Brand "You". Twitter is for sharing thoughts. Linkedin for Corporate Relations, Toostep for Debates and Discussions. its clear how the basic bluepring of Website consumpsion is made, and how people react. But today, its a mixed bag society, what you wish to see is what you see, is what others want to show you.

think everybody gives his/her opinion as per his/her experience and not as per the gender. here, too step is a platform where each one of us can support or oppose the other stating one's point.

Kavita i agree with your point of view but in Indian societies there is a definite attraction towards ladies by men. I dont know may be I am wrong but this is my observation. Too step is a different platform all together for working class learned people so no such vibes is seen here.

KAVITHA THANKS FOR REFERRAL. INCIDENTALLY IT ALL DEPENDS ON HUMAN OPINIONS WHERE HOW THINGS ARE BEING ENVISAGED AND THE QUESTION OF GENDER IS OF VERY LITTLE SIGNIFICANCE.

I do not find any discrimination in participating in network activities . Be it debate, ideate, or trend set etc. So far as, the contributions are worthy & is emanating from the network people, there no need be any discrimination. It is better to avoid this kind of notion & float freely to express your views. Social discrimination may be there at places but I do not like it. For me , contribution from any sex is same as others. Thanks for referral Ms. Kavitha Shankar

It is the matter on facebook for sure but here you can see that this is not the case . Because the ratio of men to women is already high here.

I don't know about FACEBOOK, however, in case of TOOSTEP, it is wrong. I observed many times that the discussion topic depends on the comments but on the gender. I can say gender don't matter in TOOSTEP.
