Yes, as in every other country, and yet - why should they care?! They get to power by democratic means, and they are not responsible for anything before or after their era. So their only concern is how to gain power nothing else. Reality check: in countries that fare much worse than India, or in fact my country, politicians live even better. So - WHY SHOULD THEY CARE????

Yes!
These days, they are pitching for salary increment..How funny..In parliament most of the politicians remain absent, mostly rarely speak and who so ever speak..speaks for there own good.
This year..When I submitted my income Tax..I was thinking that I am helping some politician daughter to go abroad. hmm..
I believe, Minimum Educational criteria should be evolved to enter in politics, in our constitution. This may help our economy and progress.

Politicians are rep of the people. We in India do not choose lawmakers based on their integrity and work.we are across part lines more interested in caste and religion and vote for criminals and day light dacoits. Its we actually screwing up India. We the people give bribe to get our work done and promote corruption. we have a blind eye for those who indulge in corruption and send rep to Parliament and legislatures We need to change

I agree the woes of all the learned professionals' on this forum. I want you guys to answer 1 question - ''Who are these so called POLITICIANS''?? Did they come from some other land/country/origin/planet???? Are they different from the regular ''PUBLIC''?? Who nominated them to be the ''LEADERS'' of societies?? Who gave them a chance to sit there in Assembly/Paliament??? Are we not responsible for all the above queries?? When we have elected a ''Leader'' it is our duty to get things done for us. Dont they come to us asking for votes??? Why dont we go to them with our problems??? If the house is not proper and things are untidy who is responsible - the people living in it or the head of the house??? It cannot be blamed on the Head of he family for the irresponsibleness of the family members. Every party releases a manifesto before the election. Are we really understanding that and voting?? How many of us have read an election manifesto before voting??? Did we ever try to understand the person who is contesting election from our constituency??? Did we ever give some time to think/discuss the worthiness of the candidate in our constituency???? HOW MANY OF US HAVE VOTED IN THE LATEST/LAST ELECTION???? If we can answer these queries, I think we get good ''LEADERS'' to serve us. If we are expected to perform our durties in the office, because we are paid a salary, then these guys who have been elected by us are supposed to do their duty. Are we questioning them???? If an employee is not performing his duties properly, he is either sent for a training to improve his performance. If an employee commits anything against they ethics of the Company, he is thrown out. Are we able to do this??? Leave alone the uneducated parts of our nation, is this happening in the educated sectors?? Until and unless we stop complaining and take things in our hands, nothing is going to change. Todyas' youth do not take the initiative now, then we will have to listen to these type of complaints from our next generation also.
