It has been observed from the last few years that frequency of the sexual harassment case reported at workplaces has increased considerably. most of the cases are fake and are reported only to blackmail the management or fellow employees.

I agree.I have seen it personally in the newspaper industry. Years ago, a female colleague had slapped a case against her boss whom I knew well in a fake case. An inquiry commission from the state Women's Commission was set up and the male boss was cleared of the charges.

I don't think so it is fake, in my opinion no one women will do this for blackmailing the managment or fellow employees. No body is blind thier every body have to give proof, if not so why our Law take so many years for rape cases? Only bealf of someone's statements nobady will decide the real victim and I think so Girls at the workplace know this truth very well.

yes most are fake by women who want to fix their bosses and colleaugues,unfortunately the hapless women keep quiet its only the mischievious smart women who misuse this provision to settle personal scores.The law is skewed in their favour and its misuse is akin to Section 498a IPC

I agree with you that rape case are taking longer time and victims are deprived of the justice but these cases of sexual harassment are different from rape cases.

i am agree with Poonam that dignity is most important for a women.but my point is that there are the cases which are really fake and just reported to get attention. if my comments hurts any body I am sorry....I just wanted to have a open discussion on a topic which is very important.

They are not fake at all. Women should be treated at par with men. We generally see they are considered weaker but they are not weak at all. What is the logic to complain if they are treated well everywhere.

Agree with you Punam I was not relating rape and Sexual Harrasment Mr. Danish. I was talking the judgement ability of the management that they have the ability to see who is right and wrong. For ex:Victims who speak out against sexual harassment are often labeled troublemakers who are on their own power trips, or who are looking for attention. Similar to cases of rape or sexual assault, the victim often becomes the accused, with their appearance, private life, and character likely to fall under intrusive scrutiny and attack. They risk hostility and isolation from colleagues, supervisors, teachers, fellow students, and even friends. If some one complaint he/she will face many difficulties like They may be suspended, asked to resign, or be fired from their jobs altogether. woman who was interviewed by Helen Watson, a sociologist, reported. "Facing up to the crime and having to deal with it in public is probably worse than suffering in silence. I found it to be a lot worse than the harassment itself." If some one will bear all these because of one blaim who will dare to do so even he or she is right. Either they prove themselves right or wrong they will be the victim in the eyes of society. If a man is victim society will say He is a man, he can't be right. If a girl is victim society will say She is characterless. At last who is facing this the victim. And I don't think so any body will do so only for blackmailing.

I really can't figure out what made you think that such cases are fake in general. As Mr. Anantha said the most important thing for a woman is her dignity. Classifying rape cases different from sexual harrashment does not mean that such cases are fake. When does a woman take such an extreme step?? Just for some benefits?? No there has to be something which makes her do it and most of the cases it is the truth and not an expextation to get something that akes woman lodge a complain.

Can't generalize. So, I have to say no!

If it's fake, then a woman puts her dignity at stake. In such a situation, one has to think why will she do it? At least in India, this kind of a behavior is not expected (and non-prevalent mostly!).

Woman today has taken the challenges positively and Men are more supportive. No need for a lady to fake up stuff!

I agree with @Rajeev in one of the cases, but, this cannot aid generalization of the issue.

I think this is not the ground reality for all

cases.

& some cases  may reported for black mailing of mgmt.

Still one question is remaining that why any

lady/female want to involve her name in rape

case?

Are they cheap? Simple answer is NO.

As far as Indian woman are concern, then I must say that they are not coming under such category, who wants to defame/ to get fame from such incidence. 

& this is my personal view, which may differ from others.
