Yes they must, today engineers who pass out are lacking practical knowledge and what they study is different from what they work in corporates. So here they need some certification course for some reputed company like microsoft, IBM, cisco, etc.... Which today companies are considering for freshers.

And another option is to change the total education system related to corporate standards.....

If companies are training freshers they would train them according to their requirement.A person will be strong in some platform...be it programming,networking,hardware...its not sure that they will get their particular platform to work on in which they have the flair to excel.so i think its better to go for a career path which really suits his/ her profile and get certified in the path.

If freshers will do some certifications, than they will have something extra in their hands, and it wont make any harm to them as well as one extra skill will add to their C.V.

I support your views.

& if this certifications done from market leaders like HCL, Microsoft, IBM then c.v. of that candidate definitely succeed in getting calls from prospective employers.

No,the freshers are not well informed about the utility of the certifications.Though efficacious,it had better if the recruiting company train them for the jobs they are hired.
