Mr Singha, Agreed, a good work in Gujarat does not require US congress endorsement, then why not believe the people of Gujarat who appear quite happy with him as of now and all the growth indices project the same or you would still like to talk about on communal harmony. Even on this score dig the facts a bit deeper and you would discover.... Gujarat never in past enjoyed such continued harmony as it is in recent years.. What happened was at best a public reaction to the train burning incident and unfortunate. Agree the law must take it's course and punish the perpetrators yet witch-hunting or over reaction must stop for better future. Time is a huge leveller......

Modi is a politician ,like all politician (Indira gandhi,Nehru,karunanidhi,bangarappa,telegu desam,He has to prove his harmony, and may seek opologise or any thing.Regarding society, society has to welcome his trend,...because society is not narendra modi.Indira gandhi kept her sikh securities even after Blue star operation.But ,the so called soceiety killed hundreads of sikhs,after her assasination.It happened only IN INDIA ,because we are gandhians,we are living in the place where Buddha born.Thousands of men killed in Srilanga, our gandhian Prime minister not even lost his smile.Where siddarha turned Buddha, all houses have weapons , shooting is common. It is a political decision to make an effort and reach out to larger audience to help convert borderline non-believers to turn believers. Living with stigma or ill feeling may not help even most positive minded As for his governance he is already performing rather well therefore it can only help and does not do any harm in appreciating if there is indeed a sincere effort. Going by the words of a few congressman and to believe them is utter madness. Everybody knows about the double-standard being implemented by the United States of America. The war against terrorism is nothing but to escalate the process of acquiring world's resources for a broader hegemony benefiting none but the Corporates.

This fast is different. It is just for self promotion now that he has been marked as the future PM by the US itself ! He needs to lend credence to this fact by proving that he is a mass leader and that india swoons by him. Best is to ignore him. I would have appreciated if he got around to cleaning the streets of gujarat as a sadbhavana gesture rather than indulge in such cheap gimmicks.

Absolutely NO. If Mr. Modi has done so much for the 60 million people of Gujarat , if Gujarat's much talked about growth has been inclusive , then why should he fast ? All he has to do is continue with whatever he has been doing for the last 10 years. The fact is Gujarat's growth has not been inclusive , nor is it so much better than some other states ; it is not so extraordinary that Mr. Modi can claim he is so different from others. I am not suggesting that Mr. Modi should apologize or repent or do anything regarding the riots of 2002 ; all he has to do is : 1. Move on , by promoting harmony among all people of Gujarat , irrespective of their caste , community , religion , language ,... 2. Ensure that everyone , irrespective of their economic background , shares in the state's growth ; at present , Gujarat's growth is more industry oriented ; the common man has not benefited so much ; remote villages continue to lack most facilities. 3. Ensure that the improvements in governance are systemic , so that when Mr. Modi is no longer the CM of Gujarat , the systems will continue to run smoothly and efficiently. In case anyone has information in the public domain which contradicts anything that I've posted , I would like to know.
