Personally I prefer Eclipse. But it is just a matter of choice any IDE can do the job for you. I like Eclipse because it provides great options for refactoring and source code generation, as a developer these facilities can really speed up the development. Eclipse also provide plugin support which can allow you to get extra support for many other things, you just need to explore.

As a beginner I found eclipse is excellent in terms of explaining my errors. I have learned from others that NetBeans is slower than eclipse to let you know of errors on a line and overall the program is slower than eclipse. Any comments....
