New amendments under Section 372 CrPC to empower victims: Is this enough

The Centre will soon amend the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) to empower victims to appeal against a court order acquitting an accused, or convicting the accused of a lesser offence.

“Under the amended Section 372 CrPC, the victim will not need the permission of any law enforcement or prosecuting agency to appeal a court order,”. Till now an appeal can be made only if the prosecution decides so.  The 2 amendments to CrPC Sections 41(A) and 309, which barred police from arresting an accused for an offence that carries a maximum punishment of seven years without first issuing him/her a “notice of appearance”. And all this has gained momentum after the Ruchika case which is doing the rounds now in media...So, what do you think people, Is this enough to nail the acquitted?

For renderring proper justice to the complainant it is a must that the changes be brought in the section 372 of the Cr.P.C. for empowering the defacto complainant to preffer an appeal before the  highre forum, if they are aggrieved by the judgement and findings of the court below.

Balance scale should be in equal. It cannot be tilted in favour of only the accused persons

It's a move in the right direction.. Atleast it will act as further deterrence in checking heinous crimes...

I think yes, atleast it will give much needed boost in these cases & also central govt needs to notify the ammendments of CrPC for prevention of abuse,misuse of law, if the centarl govt would withddraw the immunity to its officers it would help create an fear psychosis for them and bar them from committing such crimes, all this is injustice is happening because the system in the country was subdued till now and many high officials in the country were getting

no this is not enough.... thae criminal proceudre suffers from other lacunas also which are very much evident therein like as to time of conclusion of trial and also investigation procedures that needs to be checked
