I completely agree with Manoj Ji on this....I belong to the Gen Y workforce & I also want that companies should give me & others the same importance as to the old employees. But this doesn't mean to ignore your old employees.....believe me you just can't. They are the ones on whose efforts you have build your business. So, the best way out is to have a cooperative atmosphere where there will be a win-win situation.

New Employees are being preferred nowadays because the employers are more optimistic about their zeal towards the mission of the business enterprise. The employers normally believe that new employees can relatively easier to handle, transform and train. However, this may not be always true. There has to be an appropriate balance and experience has no substitute, therefore must always be respected.

But i strongly feel that a old employee can survive only if he can update his knowledge continuously, regarding his field, along with a novelty in his ideas.

Well stereotyping into Old employees or New employees is just wastage of ideas for a futile argument. It doesn't matter if the person concerned has the will, determination and drive To Learn & Unlearn,Accept innovative thinking, employ lateral thinking and be striving to become a better and thorough professional.Like the adage "Remuneration is not a restraint for Right Candidate"Talent,Commitment and ability never goes out of vogue,Nor does it concern Hiring managers and recruiters whether so called candidates are New or Old

well, young generation is the future but i do not agree with the point you made on thevision. The youth vision is quick money and not knowledge, they decide on the job by searching on Google ,the highest paid job and then they start chasing it, without realizing the actual path. Many want the so called "IT professional" Tag, just to fetch dowry. I have seen many cases of such kind. Today's generation is of the call center aptitude and behave as real Engineers. :)

Sameer I agree with you but at the same time the mantle to be passed to the new/young employee. This is practically a cycle and all the new employee will becom old employee one day.

Old employers are preferred because they have experience can be self starters not requiring micro level support hence increased productivity

I support this sides views which are right approach. When new openings are there, the new entrants can be trained as per work culture of the organizations. Both are important in my opinion and this is because the old employees have also contributed to the growth of the organizations. Thanks for the referral Mr.Manoj Kumar.

Old employees have a better knowledge of the organization culture and should be able to adapt to the changes in a better manner. However, new employees bring a fresh perspective and can be molded in a shorter period of time. Hence, an appropriate mix should be envisaged. Thanks for the referral, Sameer....
