I would say that we cannot generalize that all of the students who are passing out of management colleges don't have knowledge to back them up.There are always few ones in a lot who are not as good as others but still there are students who are very intelligent and can be very effective for an organisation.

New generation Managers come well equiped with knowledge and training. In a way, they represent a raw talent, which are to be shown direction and groomed into successful Managers. But their training and background accelerates this process and they take over as successful professional very fast. At this stage, it is important to givie them opportunity, show them a way and encourage them. This is very crucial job. If we fail to exploit their talent, we share equal blame alongwith them

Obviously new generation Managers are effective without any doubt. As its not only degree there is internships and other programmes too which provide them practical aspects too.Its just like as an engineer is unable to show his basic potential without any engineering degree ,similarly Management course has got its valuee too.It depends on the institutes how they provide their best effort to the management students.Similarly it also depend on the skill ,perception and devotion of a person. Why blame the Degree it provides us sea of knowledge for a particular line!!!!!!!!! Thats all

Well m against Mr. Shaju Argument. I agree that when freshers finish their college they only have degree, but there something extra that a degree holder possesses. Willingness to perform, to show that what he is capable of doing, aggressive approach and also carries a great passion towards his work. And if fresher possesses these three qualities Strength, Knowledge and Will, that person can make wonders in the World.

I agree new generation managers are really effective. I am not saying that the experinced one are not good but even young ones can be given a chance to prove themselves.
In todays date there is a lot of competition in business and even in colleges to. Number of students passing are increasing and now days it has become harder to get a job. Now when an individual is selceted he is selected because he was the best amongst lot of them may be 10 may 100 may be 500. So that means there is something different in that guy.
Nowdays half of the companies want experinced persons, what i would suggests is if a company has managers who are young and few managers who are senior too. In this case the agggressive nature which a fresher possess he can put it forward and the experinced one can do analysis on it and both of them can work together just like the present Indian cricket team (a perfect mixture of junior and senior players).
Mostly freshly graduated managers do have a lot of aggression, passion, different thinking, confidence level is high too, but most of the times experienced person gets selected above him. And sometimes it results as the new fresher gets dissapionted and gets a set back which is not good for anyone. And in such times young managers too loose hope. Even i was not selected a experinced person was given a chance ahead of me in my industry but i didnt gave up because i know what i am capable of doing and i have confidednce in myself and today where i am i seee myself going a lot ahead in life.
Basically what i wanted to convey is that young mangers are very much enthusiastic, always giving 101%. Passion which is requiered for work can be highly seen in freshers and that passion can make wonders in the World.

As they step out of MBA Colleges, they have only degrees.A Management degree would be an added advantage for any Manager, I don't deny that. But experience always counts. This is a learning world.Though he/she has a degree, there are many things that would be learnt daily.Market trend and scenario runs very hastily. So, for the novice people, it would certainly take some time to embark their cadres.

well, it is difficult to judge by the way question is asked.i can say today's education level is more advanced and people are really looking good.but, we can't simply accept any man who has got all advanced education as a good manager / successful manager unless he has experiance in handling the position and to level expected.here comes the ethics of the business and how it is handled.today we are seeing young people taking some unwanted decisions in the name of change/innovation with the help of qualification and recognitions of the institutes they have came from.

This might not be true of all management graduates, but a majority would fall into this bracket. As research suggests, only 23% of management graduates from B and C grade management schools are "employable". Most of these management graduates have poor communication, even less analytical skills and definitely are found wanting in managerial skills. Given their first exposure to the corporate world, most flounder and continue to stay at levels where growth gets stunted and soon lose drive and enter a "comfort-zone". I guess, it is also the education system and the management schools who are to blame to a large extent since these institutes do not focus on the all-round development of the students. I have come across many instances where project reports are copied from those of seniors and there is zero understanding of what is mentioned in the report.

New generation Managers can be affective only on the work place. Unfortunately the world is changing so fast that the relevance of the degree has be come a question mark every now and then. That is the reason why experience takes over the degrees.Unfortunalely in India, we could bring the eductaion system of western world but could not provide the platform to test. This is the reason why most MNCs fail miserably in India and Asia in first 3-4 years . The degrees give the tools to analyse the data to come to a conclusion but the adequacy and accuracy of data itself is questionable. There is a difference between knowledge, skill and wisdom, we get confused in these definitions and consider all of them to be same.If the management degrees are only tools for development, Japan and Germany could not have come to frontal territories in every field. Management is to mange unknown or to manage known. If it is to manage the known then may be degrees and experinece would have helped to some extent. Slowly the world is moving towards " Managiing the "unknown"--------- Quite a big challenge. Had the degrees and experience been so effective, we would never had a complete grounding of so called booming economy. shattering of empires within no time. Shows complete failure of knowledge pandits, experts and the overall system There is something wrong somewhere with what we perceive as true and actual

I certainly wouldn't say that all of them passing out of management colleges only hold degrees and don't have the requisite knowledge and skills to back them up.But yes like any other group there are few guys who only do this course for the sake of it and don't have any value-addition in their personalities but on the other side there are people who really benefits from this course and are capable enough to handle the work given to them....we should not generalize the entire thing based on few elements. What do you guys say?

Before MBA was something like niche....where only selected people were doing such courses...nowadays everywhere one can see institutes offering MBA and PGDBM courses in business management.....so they are not effective at all they are just only degree holders.....
