Nokia  has recently acquired  Dopplr, which is a travel based social network for an undisclosed amount.  Dopplr lets a user connect with similar location visiting users or past visitors of that location. The users could also explore the restaurants and other point of interest through the service. The Social portal even has an iPhone App to facilitate mobility of use and that may have drawn attention of the Mobile giant.

Though it may not be  a big acquisition but then Nokia with  this small service acquisition may be looking at providing much more feature additions to mobiles than just hardware improvements as iPhone App downloads have clearly shown the way how popular those kind of services are.  With many smartphones like iphone  getting into social networking where itis having apps of  facebook, twitter and others, and with this latest acquisition, we are seeing that most of the mobile phones are coming out with Apps of different social networking sites.

So my question is, Are people extensively accessing social networking sites on their mobile phones?  Do you socialise on Mobile phones?

Yes , many people these days socialise on mobile phones as popularity of these social sites is way too high.People use it as their best pastime .According to a study also, many people around the globe spend around 1/2 to 1 hr on these sites daily out of their office working time. And now when they are getting it on their mobile phones only then its an additional advantage for them. And not only social sites , infact they spent a lot of time on internet .

I think yes People are accessing social networking sites on their mobile phones, and i have seen many people in India using orkut from their mobile phones and with special apps on these smart phones we are seeing an increase in usage of social networking sites from their mobile phones, and it is said that there are 65 million mobile facebook users and that is a huge number that we are talking about, but then even now the trend is people go for their normal PC to access internet rather on their mobile phones, but then with new technology and smartphones at hand people are easily using it to socialise and carry out many activities on Internet and not just social networking.
