Yes, why not ? Once you identify your market and its requirements, anything is possible. And with the trust that the brand name evokes, TATA can definitely succeed as long as they keep the basics right. It is one thing to venture into an ultra rich segment and another to successfully stay in it. When builders like Raheja's and Hiranandani can do it, why not the TATA's. But only time will tell whether they have been actually successful or not.

Yeah Tata can be successful but it doesn't mean that it is very easy for Tata. But Tata is also the name of trust. They have lot of experience to tackle the situation. Market research of that company is also not bad. People also trust the name TATA. They are also known for rapidly amendment/modification of any plan/product according to demand. And the previous experience of Ratan tata has also support to believe in the Tata's success...

Hi this is SANKHA, I feel TATA will succeed because a company’s success depends on strategy they adopt for proper marketing, where right people from the concerned trade will be hired for the job and TATA as a company is very successful in using there manpower in right direction. Tata not only develops apartments in a price range of Rs. 3-7 crore. Also in primer car. I wish TATA ALL THE BEST.

If the question is limited to; Can They ?.... the answer in all cases is YES. Will it be easy?.... the answer is NO. If they do not put a thought on "No Tag is bigger than need and thought to revisit- what we intend to do and how?..and compare with "have we!!" Reason: The approach is somehow still mixed up between truck-maker, commercial segment services provider and premium service talker.

Tata has tried to cater different income group with different products like Tanisq in metros and Tata Gold Plus in B and C cities, (Jewelry). Tata Sumo/Tata Safari, (Tata motors) Titan/Fastrack (watch), Tetley/Tata tea (Tea). These all are from the same product line but catering, with difference set of audience. They have done it with much ease; I don’t see any difficulty in this as well

May we remember that once upon a time Tata was also with the rich people - they are the owner of Taj Hotel near the posh sea-shore in Mumbai ? Tata Group, as usual, is a commercial company and their Board may venture in any business model they wish. What charms the common man that they are "equally for the bottom of the pyramids" - meaning they have never lost sight of the general people's cause. Tata Nao etc is an example. In fine, Tata Group works for people, be rich or poor. There remains nothing mentionable if they now target the rich class for business venture.

Meena, good initiation and refer too. If not all, certainly most. The conglomerate (TATA's) have been successful in conceptualising, planning, execuing and succeeding the UNTHINKABLES. When NANO and MERCEDES could be from the house of TATA's, why would they not succeed in their plans of being in the NEW SPACE of constructing high-end luxury apartments? I see NO reason of carrying ny doubts as the concept is clearly to tap the realty boom.

Tata's were the pioneer in industrial revolution. They have "Midas Touch" - whatever they touch, that will turn into Gold! They have built their brand over the years - their employee-loyalty program - unparallel. Hope, everyone, knew the story of compensation and personal touch extended by Ratan Tata to the families of those who have lost their lives in the Taj Hotel in Mumbai attack, and all the employees who have displayed courage in handling the situation, both pre- and post-happenings!

No doubt, TATA is a very important industrial business house & business conglomerate with various diversification and also Indian MNC, having firmly rooted reputation/image for Tata in our country as well as globally. Now they have ventured into the construction industry. Everybody will welcome whole heartily. Their name will speak. But the question is who are the buyers for the 3/7 crores apartment. Again the answer is the big industrial business magnets. But how many will purchase. Only a few will be there. Today all the business houses are having their own guest houses in various place across the country as well as in abroad. Or they may stay in star hotels and claim the bills towards business tour expenses. So whether everybody will opt to buy 3/7 crores apartment. Accounting problem will be there. Therefore the success rate will be less. In case they target middle class, upper middle class, and rich for apartments they will be successful in their venture.

Mr Kasuri, Allow me to correct. The foray was surely only as much as to fulfill need for a company guest house. And in the intervening years lost opportunities may still outweigh.
