In the Last 50 years not a single indian film able to get Oscar Awards..It is still a dream only for bollywood...But why we are not able to achieve this..Don't we make quality Films or technology is not superior than West...Even smaller countries film's gets Oscar   but not true for Indian Film..Oscar is the Ultimate in film industries. Is it we don't have good marketing ability or our films does not reachs the world audienec

Unfortunately, the debatable issue has more than the two options originally proposed by the debate initiator.

I am PARTIALLY supporting the (Indians cannot make quality films) option but I have no choice except putting my contribution here as I am NOT supporting the other option (We dont have impressing power to the west).

The fact that the Indian movie industry is unable to receive Oscar awards on its own has nothing to do with marketing, luck, aggressiveness, and influence. It is the issue of mastering the tools and techniques used by film industry worldwide.

So, the local film industry in India is good enough to produce excellent movies on the local level but the industry is not equally good enough to produce movies capable of competing on the international arena.

Despite the fact that Mahatma Gandhi & Slumdog Millionaire are both inspired by India and partly contributed by Indian art crews, the final touch were non-Indians.

I will not comment on present movies beause many of tem lack aim. But many other movies like Pyaasa and lagaan had missed because of the power and politics.

Who said we cannot make quality movies, "Pather Pachali"(1955) directed by Satyajit Ray gave the first Best Director's award to him. "Slumdog Millionire"(2008), directed by Danny Boyle and acted by Indian actors won Oscar Award. The thing this, whenever any movie is made on Indian subject, it gets International recognition, but as we are trying to do now a days, whenever any movie imitates Hollywood style, we don't even get selected in nominees also...

As per my opinion Indians make some definatly good movies like Lagan but for Oskar Indian banner can't work you must have hollywood banner like Slumdog millioner..

Insipite of having best qulaity film makers, musians, technicians we are not able to win Osacars...simple reason  is that we are not able to market our films aggresively..Remeber slumdog is not a Indian Film but produced by western production house...but  all the key players of the film were Indians..  be the musians, sound recordist etc...So only difference I found that British director was having more influence on hollywood and they marketed their film very well .We are not lessser by any means but does not have the LUCK/impressive powers
