Our environment now needs change in "Mindset"! We have polluted all the five major elements, AIR, WATER, ETHER, FIRE and EARTH, purely for our comforts. The so-called "Luxuries" have become "NECESSITIES"! On top of that we have developed "self-esteem" and "EGO"! Every one of us have developed the tendency that " I'm a distinct individual and my comforts shouldnot be disregarded - I'll pay any price for that!" "Innovation" is better than "Conservation". Why do we think that whatever has been in use is the finality! In the God's creation, there may be many such things that are hidden. Therefore, we have to understand VEDANTA - every syllable, every word has very deep insight which are time and again mis-interpreted by the learneds for want of clarity! Therefore, we should understand "Bhumi Suktha", "Atharva Veda" and "Upanishads" that have great hidden treasures. Let's propagate Sanskrit education. Unless and until we go to our basics, we are ruining ourselves and our future generation!

Hi I will support the restoration. If you see in last 5-7 years the average temperature has gone up by 3-4 deg C. I am in Mumbai since 1993 and never seen the kind of heat I have felt in last couple of years. So around 5-7 years we were running at the thrashold limit and the same has been crossed now. To protect this we should have restoration. Regards Praveen

i agree with padmaja baskar and we all can do one small thing, every person just plant one tree for them. Once that is done we can talk about conserving the same. Lets take a pledge for doing the same which will require only 15min in a day. We will feel good once the results are in frontof us and its my own experience.

I think looking at current situation it will be more difficult to go for Restoration plans.. but what we have in hand is to stop the ongoing destruction...that is by some awareness amongst us we can easily start conservation,..... First we should start conserving ....then automatically we will have to start restoration ...which will get far more possible then...

Before "restoring" what we "had", we should "conserve" what we still "have".

Conservation of environment is not only the talk but the need of today. Agree with Padmaja, first protect and then go for restoration.

Yes, for a developing country like India at the stage giveing a big step towards becoming a developed country, we do not have the time and money to restore what ever we have spoiled. But definately we can start conserving for future and once we become a develope country we can think of restoring. The similar concepts were being followed by other developed countires.During their phase of developing they also exploited environment but now those are the country which advocate conservation.
