The politicians have taken a selfish decisions without even bothering about the future of pupils in Tamilnadu by removing Hindi from education system and was one of the cruel decisions. Those who are out of Tamilnadu and trying to catch up with the lives in other states of India will definitely be knowing the importance of having knowledge in our National language. We need to make Hindi as one of the compulsory subjects in the education system in Tamil Nadu. This is for the sake of the well beings the next generations and for bringing the people across India more close to each other.

Hi Santosh Jadhav,

Had you born in Kerala, Tamilnadu or Karnataka and you would not have been introduced with Hindi, would you have called yourself as a foreigner (not an Indian)? I am a Hindi speaking person, but can know that we cannot force our language on others. Suppose, Tamilians would have tried to force their language on you, how would you have felt in that case?

Ambedkar, who framed Constitution for independent India was a Maharashtrian and his mother tongue was Marathi, not Hindi, but he thought proper to prescribe Hindi as the official language, because Hindi was being spoken by majority of Indian states. He could well have tried to impose Marathi on all the people of India, as a compulsory language.

You cannot term an Indian as a non-Indian. Constituional provisions are made with due respect to all the Indian languages. MERE LANGUAGE CANNOT DECIDE AN INDIAN TO BE AN INDIAN OR A NON-INDIAN.

I completely support Sudeep on his point of view. In addition, like every Country, there should be a common National language and for India it is Hindi so Taminl Nadu is not only doing an injustice to the Nation but the people of Tamilnadu as well.

I dont want to say anything about the politicians of our Country the less said is better baring a few. However, there should be a official language which is Hindi. I think all across the Country there should be a language and which should be understandable by most of the people across the India, which is as of now is Hindi.

Hindi is our national language. It is our duty to preserve and develop this language. This is possible only if people are familiar with the language. For this Hindi must be a compulsory at least up to class 10th not only in Tamil Nadu but the whole country. We must not forget that Hindi is not only a language for Indians it is the symbol of our Nation.

Thanks Sachin for referral. It’s OK to make Hindi Compulsory all over India. At the same time, it should be made compulsory to learn one south Indian language for Hindi speaking and people of North India to cross the language barrier. This will also control the ego problem of Hindi speaking people.

Dear friends who are supporting on this side and actively trying to justify with counter arguements especially Sharad and Dhingra Saab......I would suggest to you to stop it......If you are surprsing why I said this go through below...all the best....

One day I hopped in a taxi and we took off for the airport.

We were driving in the right lane when suddenly a black car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us.

My taxi driver slammed on his brakes, skidded, and missed the other car by just inches! The driver of the other car whipped his head around and started yelling at us.

My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy. And I mean, he was really friendly.

So I asked, 'Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital!'

This is when my taxi driver taught me what I now call, 'The Law of the Garbage Truck.'

He explained that many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment.

As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it and sometimes they'll dump it on you. Don't take it personally.

Just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on. Don't take their garbage and spread it to other people at work, at home, or on the streets.

The bottom line is that successful people do not let garbage trucks take over their day.

Life's too short to wake up in the morning with regrets,

So ... Love the people who treat you right.

Pray for the ones who don't.

Life is ten percent what you make it and ninety percent how you take it!

Have a blessed, garbage-free day

I was seeing this debate for quite a long time and since some people doeasn't understand what others are writing I thought there is no use in writing some comment .....of course in this side.

I am not interested to write a long explanation in this side. Only I want to say that I have real life experience in India and outside how the people from this state are stuggling when they will cross the border because of not knowing hindi. In fact some of my friends really cursed the system of not learning hindi little bit and as I am from Kerala I can proudly say that I am so fluent in Hindi that I can manage wherever I will go since I studied Hindi upto +2 as my second langauage was Hindi in +1 and +2...

Please friends dont counter argue if my comments hurts some one. This is my first and last on this topic.

Mr.Rajkumar, i want to ask one question, how many states speaks Tamil language? only 5.91% of population of india speaks only Tamil, so on which basis you can say Tamil should be made as a national language. we are not forcing you to learn Hindi, i think this debate is going on the way of Hindi Vs Tamil.

Learning a language should not be made compulsory - national or regional language. However Hindi being official national language of the country people should learn that language. In addition sufficient funds should be provided to propagate Hindi and for translation of hindi literature to other languages so that rich culture of Hindi speaking regions should be made to known to others. Similarly central government should also make efforts to develop other languages. If every indian learns at least 15 languages it will be good.

Trying to force a language on anyone is wrong. Language is only a means to comunicate with people. A language is declared as a National language only to chose a language for the purpose of communication among Government and citizens. India in spite of being ruled by a large number of kings and having a more than a dozen language regions got united not because of learning Hindi but becaause of the need to get united to fight the British and get freedom. But today we are only slaves of a set of Politicains and I dont think we are enjoying any freedom in this country. Soon we will be ruled by a few Goonda and dishonest elements and all the others irrespective of the fact that they are speaking Hindi or any other language will become slaves. This debate therefore is not worth while to spend time, instead we should spend our energy on National development issues and how to eradicate poverty and reduce the gap between the rich and poor and how to get rid off the bad elements in this country and reform them.

Hi saravana, There are 1652 different languages in India and 350 are as major languages in India. So there should be some common language to communicate with people . We declare hindi as our national language each and every one in Indian should know our National Language. Hindi should be made compulsory, not only in TamilNadu but all over India.I am from Tamilnadu i supports  " Our National Language "हिन्दी" should be compulsory not only in Tamil Nadu All over India.

No argument on this topic. It should be MANDATORY in Tamil Nadu.I,being in Chennai can feel that it is very difficult to communicate when one does not know hindi. Its our national language and is the most communicable language all over India. Most of the states communicate in this language then what is the harm in South India?its just for few people's regional issues that the common people are suffering.India is going metropolitan day by day.Mixed culture is on the rise. Now there isn't any point in holding on to your own language and keep yourself out of the whole world. That way they are just lagging behind. It should be included in the school syllabus as a third language atleast.

The un-adulterated and un-polluted language in this country is "sanskrit". This is our ancient and vedic language from time immemorial. Only a particular village in Karnataka State is following it. Language learning is an individual right. Why one expects the Government to regulate policy for that. If you are so passionate about any language for that matter, including Hindi, who stops you from learning. People in Tamil Nadu learning in Tamil medium are learning English to settle down in US and Canada. Who taught them English? If you are forced for a situation, the language is automatically learnt out of compulsion! Its quite absurd to point about anything of this sort.

Its not a matter it should be applicable only in Tamilnadu it has already won the title of National language its all Indian citizens moral responsibility that they take their National Language is a matter of proud rather than deviding into various caste creed & language barrier,Or in other words we can say its always good for India that they have one common language across the country thus we feel all one nor give importance to foreign language while talking to our own people.

Mr. Raj Kumar,

You may kindly like to go through Article 343 of the Constiution of India, according to which "Hindi" is the official language of the Union of India. That itself means National language only and not regional language. Had Hindi been only a regional language and adopted as official language that could result in to favoritism with one main Hindi state of India, as against the "Right to equality". In that case there would have been a revolt by the other states in putting pessure on the Central Goivernment for making their own regional language as the official language of the Union of India.

Every Indian should learn as many Indian languiages as possible. No Politcs on this issue. Young people should also get opportunity to learn as many International languages as possible. It is not the question that just because a majority speak one language therefore rest if the people also must learn that laguage. How can by learning Hindi people can come closer? They can only understand what they speak to each other and coming to close depends upon how they conduct themselves in the society and not on their ability to speak a laguage. Knowledge of each others language is required for better communication and understanding of what they want to communicate? So learn as many language as possible. Hindi people should learn other languages if they want to comminicate with other language people and cannot say you learn my language and communicate with me. Thats wrong. Why not learn English along with as many Indian langyages as possible properly so that we can communicate with each other.

@ Rathin, pls think carefully before u generalise. It is different in other countries. No country has such a rich diversity, culture, tradition and languages that are fundamentally different from each other like India. for eg. English is the main language in UK but there are dialects of english in wales, yorkshire and scotland that are slightly different in pronounciation thats all - they are not completely different languages.

Whereas indian languages are completely different in script, written and spoken and hence the need not to have Hindi as an official language. And there is no injustice done by TN, its people are still thriving outside of TN.

English should be the business language for the country and all other languages - the communication language. Check and see how North indians are struggling due to lack of english knowledge outside india whereas tamilians and people from the south are thriving. English is spoken world over in a majority of nations. If north indians can speak english in TN, they can still get away with it.

Lets adapt with the future in mind and not be narrowed down by jingoistic tendencies of having hindi as a national lang just because a few of the states speak it ! No way !

All languages derived from Brahmi are equal in the eyes of Indian people. However as per Google transliteration, a Shirorekhaa an Nuktaa free Gujarati script is India's simplest script next to Roman script. In order to maintain two languages script per state, People may learn Hindi in their state language script through script converter or in Roman script.

If that is your wish to make hindi as National language ,that is up to you Mr. saravana elangovan( in history by 6th century one cheran chenguttuvan invaded the kings and   captured up to HIMALAYAS and brought stone from there to built a temple for kannagi as he heard the story of her from his brother ELANGOVAN ,I hope  chenkkutuvan also did not know hindi) & Sudeep. But , WHY DO YOU EXPECT US, TAMIL`S ,TO LEARN HINDI OR MAKING COMPULSORY IT IN TAMILNADU. SUCH AN EGO.WE ARE NOT YOUR SERVANTS.EVEN YOUR SERVANT WONT LEARN HOW TO BEHAVE IN PUBLIC.WHAT ARE YOUR ARGUMENTS SUPPORTING YOUR IDEA?MOST PEOPLE ARE SPEAKING HINDI?ITS WRONG ONLY 20% OF PEOPLE SPEAKING HINDI AS MOTHER LANGUAGE?THE REST UNDERSTAND ayiye, bytiyE,chaiyeye? MOST PEOPLE ARE HINDUS,MAY WE DECLARE INDIA AS A SECULAR STATE?WHEN I WORKED IN KERALA,KARNATAKA,ANDHRA,I COMMUNICATED IN ENGLISH ONLY .I MET NO PROBLEMS.DO YOU THINK NORTH INDIANS ARE SUCH ILLITERATES TO UNDERSTAND ENGLISH .IS NORTH INDIAN SCHOOLS ARE NOT TEACHING ENGLISH IN SCHOOLS?IF IT IS AS PER YOUR WISH, PLEASE MAKE SOMETHING FOR YOUR PEOPLE TO LIFT THEIR STANDARD FOR WORLD (CORPORATE)LEVEL BEFORE TEACHING HINDI TO US.i WORKED IN BIHAR,ORISSA,TRAVELLED ALONG UP ,MOST PEOPLE TRAVELLING TO KASI WITHOUT KNOWING HINDI, THEY ARE ALIVE?AND NOW  DMK, EARLIER ADMK, TELUGUDESAM ARE PARTICIPANTS IN CENTRAL GOVT WHICH WILL NEVER ACCEPT HINDI AS THEIR MOTHER.TAMIL IS NOT A LANGUAGE FOR US ITS OUR LIFE LIKE HINDI AS YOURS.YOU MAY PATRON YOUR MOTHER WE HAVE NO OBJECTION .BUT MY MOTHER IS  MY MOTHER EVEN THOUGH SHE IS POOR HOW MUCH.

Moopanar, Kamarajar, are the important persons from tamilnadu who lead the congress men not  schlors in HINDI.

Nothing should be imposed or made compulsory. Supposing it is made compulsory to use only lotus - our national flower for all festivals and in temples, how ridiculous it sounds ? In the same breath imposing a language would be counterproductive. The beauty of india lies in its very diversity witnessed in its - language, culture and day-to-dy life, lets not go about spoiling that !

"Those who are out of Tamilnadu and trying to catch up with the lives in other states of India will definitely be knowing the importance of having knowledge in our National language"

I do agree there are political parties in TN that oppose Hindi..but Lmao ...Thats the funniest comment I have seen in this decade Sir. people who wish to catch up with their lives in other states should learn the regional languages to be one with the local people.. but why Hindi??  I mean If you go to other regions for eg B'lore or mumbai you should rather learn kannada or marathi , but y hindi ?? If people speaking hindi stay  there without learning kannada or marathi the local languages , they might be kicked by Raj thekray and KSR ...

There is simply no reason to make Hindi compulsary Sir.. I am not a tamil .. I am from currenlty working in B'lore.  As for your statement "medium of communication" ... You have used english to express your views .. I am from B'lore and i might not be from your native ..but I can understand you clearly and most of the users , local people in any region , bus drivers, cab drivers, auto wallas, shop owners can understand English.. So cant english be the medium of communication outside Thamilnadu? .... Y Hindi??????????????????@#!@!%! Sir

You just can't give a solid reason for making Hindi compulsory in other states .. now you people say it should be compulsory in TN.. Sad ... I support TN and its people.. No langauge should be made compulsory in any state. n FYI "HINDI IS NOT THE NATIONAL LANGAUGE OF INDIA.. HINDI DOESN'T REFLECT OUR CULTURE AND HISTORY.. WE DON'T REVOLVE AROUND THE CONCEPT OF 1 LANGUAGE ...WE FOLLOW THE PRINCIPLE OF UNITY IN DIVERSITY AND TOLERANCE" Whats wrong with you people??? I mean come on can't you see, Hindi is clearly mentioned only as a official language along wit english and 22 other langauges.. Why do you people even claim hindi as our national language??. People its 2012 , it has been more than half a century of independent India ..please learn the constitution and principle which our country follows.. ahhhh wat days...

.Every language is important as Hindi...its INDIA not HINDIA ....sheeeeshh...!!

And finally Do you know the percentage of people going outside tamilnadu for their living to other states? may be aroung 4-5 % of the total population? (am not sure about the numbers)..You mean to say just for the 4-5% of people, a state should make a language compulsory . Then can we make Kannda compulsory in delhi?? ..because many of my hindi speaking friends here come from NCR and they struggle to communicate with the local people because of their inability to learn to kannada... n the number of ppl from north india to B'lore is surely more than 5-10 % ..so will that be ok if Kannada is made compulsory in northern states.. i mean atleast any 1 of the south indian languages should be made compulsory in delhi n other north indian states... will that be k with the hindi speakin people... just start thinking practically Sir.. !

I am maharashtrian .. I am supporting NO. because by accepting and speaking hindi in maharashtra has caused lot of suffering and destruction of marathi. So, whatever tamilians are doing is perfect. Each and every state should do the same.. There should be no force of hindi on any state.. and by the way, hindi is not our national language. It is just an official language of India..Anyways tamilians you rock.. Don't ever lose ur language otherwise u will be f***d as today maharashtrians are !!!

Do you know, HINDI has cost Congress its position in Tamil Nadu. Even today, they are totally wiped out from the State. Rest is History. Please read the story by our famous Historian, Shri Ramachandra Guha: " To remove any `misapprehension' and `misunderstanding', he said he would fully honour Nehru's assurance that English would be used as long as the people wanted. Then he made four assurances of his own: `First, every State will have complete and unfettered freedom to continue to transact its own business in the language of its own choice, which may be the regional language or English. Second, communications from one State to another will either be in English or will be accompanied by an authentic English translation. Third, the non-Hindi States will be free to correspond with the Central Government in English and no change will be made in this arrangement without the consent of the non-Hindi States. Fourth, in the transaction of business at the Central level English will continue to be used'. Later, Shastri added a crucial fifth assurance — that the All India Civil Services Examination would continue to be conducted in English rather than (as the zealots wished) in the medium of Hindi alone. The Prime Minister's speech served both to calm down the anti-Hindi movement and to maintain the unity of the nation. But it came too late to save his party's reputation in the Tamil country. For the protests of January-February 1965 helped establish the DMK as the coming party in Madras politics. Two years later, under Annadurai's leadership, it comfortably won the Assembly elections. The Congress was wiped out; ever since, it has remained a feeble force in the state. Not for the first (or indeed last) time, linguistic chauvinism has carried with it a massive political cost." Excerpts taken from Ramachandra Guha's article in the Hindu, English Daily.

Dear Raj Kumar,

I wish your dream of making Tamil, as national language and also compulsory in Parliament of India, comes true.

In 1962 when I was deputed for induction training on entry in service, one Tamilian instructor asked me to speak in English stating that English was the mother tongue and national language. From your views, I fail to understand, whether he was correct treating English as the national language and even mother tongue, or you are correct by treating Tamil as national language and mother tongue? It seems, Tamil people differ even on the issue of mother tongue, what to speak about national language.

But, probably, you live in 400 BCE, rather than 21st century, as in your very first post you stated "Tamil is the NATIONAL and official language in Tamilnadu". This gives impression as if you are a separatist and consider Tamilnadu, as a separate nation and not a part of India.

Making national language, as a compulsory lanuage does not deprive any state from using mother tongue of a state as their own official language. Making a language compulsory means only to teach a language compulsorily to the children of India, so that they can learn the sense of belonging and national integrity for India.

Even if Tamil is the oldest lanuage in India, the question arises, why the Tamil could not flourish as a majority language in India? The eason is that they want o rmain isolated from the main stream. The other question arises, India's heritage being very rich in nature and the civilisation being the oldest one, why India could not be a progressive nation and its language was not spread throughout the world like the English language, why USA and UK could flourish the most? The only reason seems to be that like the Tamilians several others do not believe in national integrity, considering their own entity as the highest and respectable as compared to others, an empty but wishful thinking without having emotional attachment with the nation as a whole.

The reason for India's slavery is quite clear that majority of the people of India thinks national integrity only as a secondary issue.

Mind it, neither I can force any language on any one, nor you can. I have only stated, what Indian Constitution states. If you want Tamil as a national language, I would like to advise you to get the isue taken up in the Parliament through your state's MPs for the amendment of the Indian Constitution to that effect. Rest assured, I shall be the first not only to adopt Tamil, as my national language, but also would try do PhD in Tamil language.

It is only in the interests of India, as a nation, if all the states adopt voluntarily a national language smoothly, if it really wants to progress. Just think, why English is flourishing? Since the states have not adopted national language as a compulsory lanuage of teaching, English, a foreign language, is acting as a link language, rather than any of India's own language.

I am against enforcing anything on anybody but at the same time lament the fact that hindi should not be removed from the education system. It should be given as an elective and whoever wants to take it should be free to doso. Not out of any coercion or compulsion.Being a tamilian myself i know the benefits of knowing not just hindi but a whole lot of other languages even french, spanish etc. Knowing additional languages have never harmed anybody but help the individual progress in life. By taking out hindi from the syllabus, politicians have ruined the lives of students in one stroke. Who the hell gave them the right to take such decisions ? There should be an academic panel that should instead arrive at this decision, not politicians. But then we ourselves are to be blamed since we elect them to that position.

This is as stupid as what Raj Thackeray tried in maharashtra.

This entire debate is useless. This debate is much one sided as Hindians are allowed to participate. Hindians cannot understand the viewpoint of Tamils unless they are born in Tamilnadu. How can we expect justice from a majority for a minority. Can Tibetians expect justice from Chinese? Can Georgians expect from Russians? Can Tamils expect from Hindians and Singalese? Can Kashmiris expect from Indians? I can understand Hindians that they cannot compromise. Same way Hindians should also understand the Tamil nationalists. At the minute there are not enough matured Hindians available like Arundati Roy. Only fanatics are there. Therefore, it is not possible to get justice in this country. I am astonished to see so many Hindians coming into this topic about Tamilnadu just for their own vested interest and not for the benefit of Tamils. However, as long as the Traitors like SARAVANA KUMAR (questioner) is there in Tmilnadu, it very difficult to protect Tamils and Tamils homeland.

@ Saravana Kumar (questioner), why do you act like a traitor. Only because of inside enemies like you, we Tamils lost our rights, lives, language and culture to the Hindians and invaders. You are a big curse to Tamil nation. We Tamils all over the world are fighting for Tamils lost land and justice from this false secular nation called India. You happily supporting to impose a foreign language in Tamil soil. Shame on people like you. How dare you ask such a question? Will you sell your mother for sake of good job and better life? Tamil language is more than mother to us. Think about that. These false patriots will keep on praising the corrupt and arrogant government knowingly. Why should the Tamils support these criminals? Tell me about that.

Dear Dhingra, every thing in Tamilnadu changed after May 2009. Prior to that I agree, that you could have made Indian sentiments to take over Tamil Nationalism. But after May 17 2009, entire Tamilnadu is fuming. If you don't know the importance of May 17, 2009, you are not fit to be an Indian itself. If you know about May 17, then what have you done to solve that issue. @ Gupta, as I told you before, you have no right to get involved in Tamils issue. We will decide on what we want. If you continue to impose your language, then I will impose my language on you. How is it?

Ive been traveling to south ..i found that they know understand Hindi but still show like what is Hindi ..they don't behave properly with non south Indians...and this 100000000% true you can ask any Indian who has been to south for some purpose...

they dont respect Hindi and Hindustan...so Im angry....or else we should make them free and let them go with their LTTE people...hhhhhhh big joke

what a progress they will have,,

Mr Gupta, same way, Tamilnadu is not your father's land to claim. It is our ancient mother land. We will decide what to speak in our land. Please can you politely get out of my land? I will not step inside your land. Take back all your central govt offices from Tamilnadu (Tamil country). Enough of occupying our Tamil land. This is the height of patience. Please get out of Kashmir by the way. You have no hold on our soil. Never step into my territory and tell that I have to speak your language.

Mr. Rathin, do you have any idea about languages? Can you speak in Sanskrit at least.? Do you know Tamil? First learn both the languages and then tell which is the mother language. Before that you have no rights to talk about any Indian languages.

Mr Gupta, you are in India and you support Hindi as a national language. How foolish it is? India's one and only language is Tamil. Oldest, rarest, classical language is Tamil. Indus language is Tamil. Tamil gave birth to all the languages of India. Therefore you should learn Tamil. You should educate your kids to learn Tamil. Tamil should be made compulsory in all states. From Kashmir to Assam, Tamil should be imposed even inside the house and in Schools. All Indians have the right to know their mother tongue Tamil. Tamil should be made compulsory even in Parliament.

Mr. Rao and Mr. Dhingra, firstly you guys are not Tamils. Only Tamils have to decide whether they want a foriegn language in their state or not. Not non-Tamils like you. This is the issue of the Tamils. Non-Tamils are majority in this psuedo democratic nation. Obvioulsy they will vote for Hindi. Then there is no meaning in this one sided debate. Please all non- Tamils stay away from this debate. You are outnumbering Tamils and there is no meaning in voting. Tamils are minority in Indian nation. But we are a distinct national linguistic group. we will not succumb.

It is wrong to say that learning Hindi or making it compulsory would help students and bring people accross India close to each other. Ofcourse people need to know the langage of each other in order to communicate effectively while doing business or help each other. That doesnot mean learning Hindi alone will help. How many of north indians doing business in South have learnt local language? Dividing the coutry on the basis of language itself is a big mistake we have committed. Why not learn English properly instead of talking against it? When money is needed for development of the regions, especially the infrstructure, Is it wise to spend it on development of language? let people chose and learn as many languages as they want and require. Language has no barrier. People accross india will come close to each other only when economic disparity and cast system is removed not just by learning Hindi.

Can anybody point me out from when Hindi became national language. As per constitution, Hindi is the first official language and English is the communication language. Not sure how it came to national language status. First let u guys make hindi as national language, then we can think about forcing people to learn. One advice, nothing can be changed by Force. it can be achieved by love.

Tamil should be made as a national and offical language of India. Each and every Hindi speaking states should learn Tamil. Tamil should be made compulsory in all schools of India. Tamil is the oldest living classical language of India, hence deserves to be national language. Every Tamil will accept this. We will educate all Hindians to learn Tamil.

Learning anything should be left to the choice of the concerned.Compulsion has never succeeded but only strains the existing relationship and affinity for each other. There are many schools in Tamilnadu teaching Hindi instead of Local language Tamil and year after year many students learn Hindi instead of Tamil in schools.Let them decide what they want.

Language has no barrier. Hence, focusing on language will only antagonize the people further. It should be the free will of an individual to decide the course of the future. The bigger problem is economic inequality and the caste system which will create bigger problems in the future in the state....

Thanks for the referral, Sharad....

Mr. Sudeep you are wrong. SRi Chakravarthula Rajagopalachari, freedom fighter and Statesman from Tamilnadu first wanted Hindi as a national language. But, he lead the fight against it later on considering the apprehensions of people of Tamilnadu. Then the tri-language formula was adopted by the Central Govt. then. People of those days apprehended that if Hindi is given the national language status, their opportunities will be grabbed by the native-hindi speakers in the Govt. employment (there were no private employment avenues in those days). Ofcourse, the situation has now changed totally. Govts. have to take a decision duly considering the sentiments attached to language. People are emotionally attached to language. They consider any attack on language is attack on their culture.

Its not the only thing that by learning Hindi a person can survive or do his business in India.Rather learning Hindi better learn English in a good manner so that it will help him grow accross the globe successfully.I also strongly suggest that if a person learns Hindi then its not he can be successfull al over India. For eg.,u cant depent upon hindi in most of the tribal regions and southern regions of our country. They doesn't speak hindi..they will only know their local mother tongue. So by making them to learn english will help them to communicate with us and all over India why not accross the globe.Hindi doesnt make any one to grow or fulfill his communication needs. So make all to learn english. Will help them and our country to grow according to the global market.

CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT WOULD BE NECESSARY

Any language cannot be made compulsory by the Government of India, may that be the national language, as that would infringe the Consitutional Fundamenal Right, the "Cultural and educational rights" of a person.

So, unless this type of right is not modified to accomodate Hindi as a compulsory language for all the states, Hindi cannot be made compulsory in Tamilnadu.

However, my personal views are that introduction of the national lanuage, as a compulsory language for all the states is quite necessary to reinforce the national integrity of India.

Readers may therfore like to compel their political leaders to take up the issue in the Parliament of India to make amendment of the Constitution of India to that effect.

If the "Right to Property" can be deleted with the Forty-Forth Amendment of 1978, NATIONAL LANGUAGE CAN ALSO BE MADE COMPULSORY BY THE CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT.

Hindi is not our national language. There is no clause in the constitution of India to say that Hindi is national language. Hindi is just another regional language. We have 22 official recognised languages and two link languages i.e English and Hindi. That is all. We don't want Hindi in our state of Tamilnadu. In Tamilnadu Tamil is the national and official language. We don't want to speak and write in Hindi and don't want to see our politicians and people to speak in Hindi leaving aside our mother tongue. Our mother tongue is important to us.
