It is evident from the people who are in confused state of their occupation that they're forced to do because of their education and parents. Parents should know the current trends and development of the field they're choosing and analyze it with the field their children have chosen and then suggest to them

They have all rights and experience to guide their children. Only when the child is not clear of the education and career, parents interfere and decide. Else they leave it to their choice.

Many cases parents decision doesn't go wrong.

Parents assume they will always be right ! This may not be the case as parents are also human and they can also go wrong ! The child needs to be explained the pros, cons and risks involved in each alternative and he/she must take his own decision based on the support information available. Viewpoints and opinions are welcome, but no force ! The child also needs to take responsibility for the decision ! It is only when the child has taken his own decision that he will put his best into it and also be happy doing it.

In any case, parental support system must provide unconditional support to the child at all times, even when the child's decision goes wrong !

Parents have right to suggest but not to decide because they live 40 years with his child but he/she should live 70 years with there life through his decision. He/she has right to decide with proper guidance and valuable inputs from parents. Parents has that love and experiance to rectify the problem or help if his child has fail to make his future better.

No two fingers are alike! Decision making on the future of the child by parents is very significant when a child is very confused about his future. He picks up news here and there without due diligence and jump into conclusion. Elders, of course, will not jump into conclusion, but conduct due diligence before they put him on the right track. If a child fails to articulate his point of view to the parents, how would they know, but impose their decision on him. Therefore, our education system should focus on and teach every child the decision making by frequently conducting SWOT analysis and allowing the child to learn and apply self-analysis. Expose all the avenues and possibilities to him for a bright future, so that he does not have to depend solely on the parents to decide his future!

For i while i thought which side should i write as my views are slightly away from the topics. firstly, 'should suggest' and 'have rights' is wrongly used. In this, background plays a big role, if parents are educated they need to identify the talent of the kid and accordingly need to guide and prepare him/her. If parents are not educated then many leaves everything on kid or some guide kid to the career what they wanted to be. thus result could be anything. In such cases parents need counseling.

Parents should suggest them bcoz they have experience but don't force to them bcoz children also want the experience, let them go on there way,just give them suggestion how to implement and how to best in that perticulat selected field
