If reports are to be believed then Infosys firing (or layoff) is turning out to be a painful issue for the existing employees of Infosys. It seems that deviating from the norm under which employee rating for two years has been watched before being fired – this year just on the basis on one yerar’s rating people are asked to go. According to popular layoff blog Layofftracker at Blogspot - “The whole exit procedure is effected to the employee as a sudden shock where he/she is called for a mysterious meeting where he/she is threatened of dire consequences if they fail to accept their demand to resign. A tailor made resignation letter is placed before him/her and they are brain washed to sign it. After they sign it, their ID cards are snatched and they are escorted out of the company premises by a HR who doesn’t even allow to bid adieu to fellow colleagues. All this happens within a time frame of 45-60 mins where you are suddenly on the road retracing all that took place in the past 1 hour.” Many employees have reportadly left the comments online that false policies are said to be followed when an employee is forcefully made to accept that he is an under performer even though he/she has achieved all the set targets. He is told that he will be put under a performance improvement plan where he/she would be closely monitored for a 6 months period and then based on his/her performance in that a report would be sent to HRD which decides the future of that person in Infosys; this year employees are told that its a wrong information and they are asked to sign their resignations forcefully. Many employees whoa are asked to leave are also often reported complaining about the politics in the whole process of evaluation. As one of our reader has commented – if you have to lay off – just layoff – why you are laying off people under the pretext of poor performance. so i 100% agree eith priyanka ma'am

Mr Murthy has lot to say and lot to do.. Mostly what he says is just on paper.. He is a successful man but hat doesnot stop me from opposing him. I really don't understand why does he even need to give such statements. I am more concerned about the trainees at infosys mysore who never want to lave but are forced tp sign the resignation saying "laving the sompany because of training related issues" . Do they leave job or boss.. no nothing at all.. It is all about speaking volumes and maintianing a psuedo image in the corporate world. Coming back to the reality of the statement we must ask ourself ""Do we really leave a job just because we don't like our boss??" No we don't.The statement stands unjustified.

A few years back, there was an article in The Times of India of same title. It was authored by Mr.Azeem Premjee!!!So it's a widely acclaimed fact that employees leave their bosses and not their companies. Most if the times it is proven to be true.May be a marginal percentage have to " Move on for Better prospects etc.".In principal why the hell the same employee can't get better prospects at this same organization? The job contents offerred at the time of recruitment and actual situation differs most of the times. It may differ on various counts ranging from Salary/allowances/ perks etc. to team size promised initially to freedom of expression and decision making delegation etc. As professionals we individuals know very well that we should never be expecting ideal situation anywhere. ut all the above things are greatly dependent on the BOSS and hence the employee leaves The BOSS and not The Organization!!! Many a times the Boss starts feeling insecure about the new recruit because of his/her calibur, enthusiasm, qualifications, knowledge and pace, efficiency etc. Other reason could be boss being too autocratic and not concerned with Employee development, feedback Synergy and empathy!! The higher the post of the boss the more he is generally reluctant to accept fact and reality on the face value. On the other hand the employee may not be of the right calibre i mean to say the issues here are very limited.A Lack of skills-can be overcome by imparting training,b)Lack of discipline-can be rectified by rewards and penalties. and c) Lack of attitude-Nothing can be done here as Attitude is inherent quality here!!!!

I think this is more so than the opposite opinion. If you observe this closely, you'll find a strong trend of dismissing people from their post regardless of their contribution or brains. Such people tend to fare better somewhere else, even with the competition. Now, who is to blame? I think the complete notion that aggression equals better leader, while in fact it is just another bully.
