I do not think that Pharma-product's Branding will yield the expected results. Because, unlike other products branding, the application may not be universal. Mean to say a Brand doing well in particular region / country may not do so , in other Parts. Where to say that Brand may fail. Because the product does have impact on the geographical location / the type of application.

I agree with you Meena on your point of view. Those products will go under OTC category.

I do agree with Mr. Gupta, as far as OTC products of drug industries are concerned it has to be as per drug law but as most of the Pharmacy co. promote and educate Doctors about there drugs, They can educate and compare  about there main composition of selective drugs to their consumers also which they do by sticking  posters at doctors chambers or  in drug shops which can be done through electronic media.

In fact OTC branding is possible only for a few products in Pharma industry. That is because for the management of any serious problem, other than cold, cough etc, you need some specific drugs. These drugs, as per Drug Act, can not be sold without prescription of a registered medical practitioner. Though in our country these drugs are available without any prescriptions. And as per the rule this an offence. Thus, OTC branding will be of little success as far as Pharma industry is concern.
