Given the diverse set of constraints being faced by the economy and the government, the present budget meets most of the challenges. But if you analyse this budget on the basis of loss/gain to you, your state, your product, your business sector, your industry etc, you can't be staisfied-In other terms, no budget can satisfy all the stakeholders. But looking at a broader perspective, i believe, this budget meets most of the challenges.

Inclusive growth will happen only when our politicians spend time with their constituents understanding all their plights, ensuring all the schemes reach the downtrodden without demur! However, populist budget one declares, if the enforcement and implementation fails as per the purport and intent, major chunk will fill only the coffers of the mighty people not the poor!

In every budget, govt makes tall claims of development, now presenting budget is just a routine custom, and aims only to strengthen vote bank rather than development. See how crime, corruption, terrorism, population, poverty and host of other issues have surged but recede over the years. Why? There is no accountability and responsibility in the system, custodians of people are plundering public coffers, there are examples galore, like Raja, Kalmadi, Bhanot, Verma, Kapoor, Lali and many more. PM, Manmohan Singh, Sonia and others are mere mute spectator.

I think under the circumstances this is the best budget presentation. One cannot make 1 billion plus population happy at any given time. With little knowledge i feel this is the best. Yes if crude pricing would have been in India Govt hands the budget would have been different.

The finance minister is supposed to present a budget which addresses the needs of all the sections of society. The economy is growing so is the inflation. The govt. has failed to rope in inflation and the most adverse impact is on the tax payers. The meagre increase of Rs.20000 in the income tax exemption limit, that too only for males is actually a decrease in the exemption limit compared with the inflation the common man is facing. The Honourable PM's remarks are political. I am a great fan of Dr. Manmohan Singh as the erstwhile Finance Minister, but not as the P.M. India is on the growth track just because of the policies he had framed as a Finance Minister.

if the objective of a government is considered to be governing the state with the resources that are mobbed from its citizens and that too if its character if defined as that of welfare, than not only this budget but every other budget of this great nation could very well be likened to the manifestations of the group of blind men venturing to describe the morphology of and elephant.

It is never possible in whole world to submit/propose a 'BUDGET' which is highly accapted by the people. If our PM thinks like this, it is just a political accaptance only.

I always said that out fourty percent of population lives under the poverty line and most of the rest belong to lower middle class. the persons below poverty line dont understand what is budget and i think the most from lower middle class too. They are just struggling for their life, for food for clothes. few line of things in AC room will never provide the true things for country. if they want to produce the right budget. it should be in the sand of the villege. i.e. in reality

Dear Disha, Where is fiscal consolidation? The revenue of 3-G spectrum is used for reducing the deficit from 5.4 to 4.6%. However, there is reduction in subsidy and there is no talk about taming inflation. The talk of fiscal consolidation is myth and to bring down inflation to 5% level in one year is not only imaginary but also jugglery and rhetoric with no substance.

Current PM is more political man and less finance man. This budget has nothing for common man. If we judge from giving and taking 2011-12 budget is giving less and taking more from common man.We can say this budget as blood-sucker budget.

As the prime minister said " it does not please all". He is right. It pleases crony capitalists, corrupt politicians, income tax evaders, Swiss Bank account holders. For his 'they' are 'people', if they are satisfied it is fine others need not. The budget has not addressed the issue of current account deficit, spiraling of inflation, likely impact of petroleum product prices increase. What is has addressed nothing. As Koushik Basu has given a certificate that the budget is similar to advanced economy budget. Yes that is what is expected out of a paid employee of Government and not words of true economist. Please read comments by P.Sainath, and The Hindu editorial.

Sorry , Ms. Disha I totally disagree with your views. This budget have most of the things for businessmen/ business houses/ industries etc etc....... But they fail to satisfy the real Indian people / 'AAM AADMI". Congress ka hath, ab nahi aam aadmi ke saath.
