Is there any thing that a 22 year experienced person don't know in comparison with one holding a PMP certificate ??? Not at all....

Since today PMP certification has gained recognition, having one will be beneficial . It will add to your experience...

The 22 year experience in which way of thinking is all the more impartant. While preparing yourself for the PMP Certification one may realise the importance on which direction one should think. What are all the possible factors effecting the Triple constrints and how to over come those can be known during the process of study for certification. In the process of  study for the certification, one would definetly realise this.

PMP is all about processes of the individual stages when a project goes through initiation to completion. The certification will add value in way of putting a structured perspective to any project whereas experience will enable to sail through a project smoothly.

Hence according to me PMP certification will certainly bolster any project implementation along with years of experience.

Experience is measurable in Years

But knowledge cant be measured...

Knowledge can only be gained and shared...!!

PMP credential obtaining processs itself is a Knowledge gaining and sharing process..

Your experience could help you in scoring the situational questions tested in PMP exam provided your learning through experience are in line with the Ideas put forward in PMBOK Guide /  Standard..

If you have experience in certain areas of PM, quite different from the ideologies put forward in PMBOK, then you may have to unlearn them and know to diffrentiate what is right as per the PMBOK Standard to gain PMP credential smoothly...!!!

Any Knowledge gaining and sharing process doesn't have nay limits to be contended with.. Hence go for PMP...!!

No, are you joking with 22yrs experience one has enough knowledge about how to go about a project than anyone, even with PMP certification one can't match up with the experience that the person has in the field, it is just now that they are giving all these names, from before itself they would be practicing such methods it is now they are coming out with such certification and all. So it doesn't make as such difference, may be some insights on the trends or procedures thats it.
