Today ITIl has become more important. Service after delivering the product is very important for IT industry....

The ITIL framework and the project management framework support each other in a way that propels services and operations to a greater level of proficiency. But for the customer satisfaction, efficiency for deliverable and highly executable, It is definitely ITIL which is trust worthy that value more even after delivering the product right.

you have to anyway deliver the project to fill your belly...there are in fact ppl delivering projects successfully without a PMP certificate...but what you do after delivery is important...because once you have delivered the project and updated your cash-box, ppl. take it easy thinking the job has been completed...this is where ITIL comes into the pic...you have a satisfied customer...and things may go awkward if the customer you have satisfied begins to give -ve feedback after the delivery of your project...which may lead you losing your customers...so ITIL certainly score here...creating customers is good but retaining them is even more challenging...its like purchasing a RR Ghost that is cool but maintaining it is a bigger headache...

ITIL is more important because if you do not provide services after sales, you may loose customer. and if you loose customer than if you try to get that customer again it will cost you more.

ITIL definitely. delivering the prouct is not the ultimate achievement. It is about retaining the customer for repeat business. The market is moving towards Customer Maintenance Management fro CRM. Hence ITIL is the right tool

hI guys: how different are these two approaches. PMP talks about how to deliver the project with manipulating the triple constriants where as ITIL teaches how to service the delivered project. It majorly talks about ways & methods of effeciently servicing the customer.

First comes the timeliness of project delivery which will delight the Customer and hence,  PMP scores over ITIL .
