Decidedly yes. The poor fight because they are poor. Rich guys don't fight. That is why most communal riots break out in poor and backward areas where the people's tempers are already frayed.

Poverty & social cohesion is an enduring problem however there is lack of awareness on our front as problems. We, as part of our societal responsibilities, hardly pay attention to such aspects. Also, there is a lack of attitude in people's mindset to tackle such issues. We are still grappling with widespread corruption in every field and self-interests clashs which we have to come out of and look at the large picture of tackling poverty & social cohesion.

I think People with low levels of education, pensioners, the unemployed, single-parent families and families with large numbers of children are the enduring problem. The places most affected by poverty are rural areas.

Is this what you mean when you say you support population reduction http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DeNOlCA0sGM I oppose killing people or adopting a one child per family policy as China has for the past decades. There are better solutions available - I oppose this genocide.

I agree that Poverty and Social cohesion are NOT enduring problems. Sadhu Vasvani has said in his lectures that whatever be the hard facts it is the Attitude that matters. Yes poverty is a state of the mind because with a firm resolve and a positive attitude a person can overcome all obstacles in life including poverty. I have personally felt that if you build a healthy body it will work towards building a healthy mind which in turn builds a healthy Spirit. This can be achieved through meditational excercises such as Reiki, Yoga and the like. The above is a constant process throughout life and not a easy remedy. With widespread education these qualities can be inculcated by any individual irrespective of the place or status in society.

I don't think that Poverty and social cohesion are enduring problems nor do I believe that they have much to do with population. I was raised in the Southern part of the US in a poor family; yet in time I became a millionaire but that didn't last. I learned that education and my childhood had a great impact on the way I think and acted as a young adult. The same attitudes enabled me to overcome poverty in my life when misfortune visited me later in life in my late 40's. Poverty is more of a state of mind than a constant condition and with proper application of resources and common sense most anyone can overcome their conditions or circumstances to put themselves in a position to help others. That's my opinion based on life experiences - see: http://www.gogvo.com/evp/video/15792/The-Hot-Seat for more details.
