i do agree dat nuclear energy can save fossil fuels from depletion, but tapping of nuclear energy is tedious one....does our technology s healthy to cope nuclear technology...we should not stop thermal power generation rather v can move gradually

The difference in power generation alone merits the change. The only hiccup is the waste disposal. But that is being rectified. Last month, there was a report that an Indian scientist in collaboration with a US university developed a cheap and easy way to recycle nuclear waste. It was a pretty simple process that still needs to be tested but it should not be long now.

I believe that energy requirements which grow every day make it inevitable that we use nuclear energy. When the problem becomes big enough, a solution will also arise.. as they say - Necessity is the mother of invention. So, nuclear waste will also be neutralized when its disposal becomes a big enough problem.

And with the nuclear deal in place , theres no stopping us now. And once we perfect the thorium fuel cycle , with our abundant resources of the same we will also be independent for our energy security

Yes, India has a vision of becoming a world leader in nuclear technology due to its expertise in fast reactors and thorium fuel cycle. So the thermal power usage is gradually reducing and people started moving to wards nuclear power. So this is the right time to implement it.

Thanks :)

I guess thats the only way of reducing the carbon footprint from energy generation
