In fact I am trying to convert my Vodafone connection from post paid to prepaid for some time now but under one pretext or the other they are not doing the same, shows in prepaid you know exactly what are the usage and on the contrary in post paid the same is not possible.

I have been using postpaid for more than 5 years now. However, I've decided to switch to prepaid now. In postpaid you have to incur a fixed monthly charge, regardless of your usage, which increases your effective per call rate. Plus there are taxes. In prepaid, you get recharge vouchers that give you as much talktime as the cost of the voucher is, so no fixed charge and no tax. Also, there are websites that have offers if you recharge through them. On the whole, a lower per call rate for prepaid.

Both these options have their own audience. It depends purely on your requirement. For the business users who deal with high-end customers,post-paid is the right option. However, for a ordinary man,who is really worried about his expenditure,pre-paid is the right choice. One of the best features in pre-paid is you can have all the services at optimal cost and can avail the services like no rental recharges(full talk time) etc.

PRE PAID IS THE BEST AS I FEEL BECAUSE UYOU CAN NOT BE CHEATED IN PREPAID YOU IMMEDIATLY GET THE DEBITED AMOUNT DETAIL. IN POST PAID THERE ARE PLENTY OF HIDDEN CHARGES AND OTHER PROBLEMS, Ihave personally felt.

For individual use, pre-paid is good. No need to have any security deposit & where the calls are controlled by you & your pocket. Whereas, for corporate, post paid is ideal. In pre-paid, do not you see that many more smaller entrepreneurs are surviving whereas, in post-paid, the gaint is swelling its pocket.

Prepaid is better for a person who is systematic deciplined and plans ahead. Prepaid saves money for you and you can always check your balance and top up online using the mobile banking facility. If you are a lazy person and dont want to spend little time on checking your balance and top ups, and have lot of money to spend then you can have post paid.

in prepaid you can put very big talktime with a very big duration , so ultimately there is no problem of seeing the balance but if something wrong happens from operator side , its known immediately while in postpaid , you only know about it after a month-------similarly like investing in equity-directly in market and Mutual funds. I prefer prepaid

For light users, that is what a mobile meant for, prepaid looks to be promissing. I have made all India calls as low as 5 ~ 10 paise. Once I burnt my purse on a post paid with Airtel through corporate. The bill came to Rs750 per month, though what was quoted at the time of signing was different. Now for even one year I am just spending less than Rs1000/- May be there are some schemes in post paid if pais by company for bulk users. I am comfortable with pre-paid.

I used both pre-post paid connections. But prepaid was better. My Operator was Airtel, they often charges my VAS service even after i didn't logged into GPRS. The only hesitation is we need to monitor our account balance. It can be sorted on recharging Full Talktime offers. Also the call tariff is lesser than Postpaid. No need to pay extra money for Monthly rentals ! No Waiver needed ! Hassle free usage !!

as long as you are within your budget, post paid is a more viable option. it is hassle free. gets a bill every month that can be used in these days as proof of address. auto-pay arrangement with your bank lets you forget about payment of bills. every time you touch a pre-paid phone, you get a message:- :thank you very much. this touch costed you xxx. balance in your account is yyy. this is totally disgusting. suddenly in the middle of your call at times line gets cut saying balance has come to zero. this is totally unacceptable. post paid for me any day.

am using postpaid and find it very convenient i need not bother about recharge or availability of balance. I had to recharging done online for my children from far away as they were either in travel/ are unable to spare the money/time at critical juncture, which is a great incovenience with prepaid connections.

Actually speaking both the plans have some disadvantages. If it is post paid you will not have any control over bill and if it is prepaid recharging etc., are there. But I strongly feel postpaid is more useful and troublefree also. But you should have a watch on usage. However now a days the tariffs are so less that you need not worry about the expenses on the mobile bill. If you want save cost you can use a basic model phone. drrao

Post paid mobile subscription plan is preferred when you know your quantum of regular calls and also know that you will be able to keep your expenses within the ceiling limit. Prepaid mobile subscription plan is preferred when you want to curtail your expenses and work according to a set budget. However, depending on one's circumstances, one can decide on a specific type of plan. Thanks for the referral, Sameer....
