I feel the advantage of Prince2 method lies in its focus which is product
based. Prince2, as a project management methodology concerns itself
with successful deliveries of projects rather than on the activities of
the project. This makes the Prince2 system output-driven and is viewed
as a more pro-active way of handling and managing different projects. For flexibility and timely delivery Priince2 is better but PMP on the other end takles issues like procurement, which are not
really covered in Prince2. SO I personally decided to use a
combination of both for my PMO and I am satisfied with the results. By

well not exactly. PRINCE2 is concise and does not come with the baggage of contact hours and eligibility criterion and a bulky PMBOK. PRINCE2 covers all the PM day to day activiites and is totally focussed in the end game i.e delivering the product
I could say that people in the many countries have heard of PMBOK but do not know what it is & vice versa for PRINCE2, Many people assume PRINCE2 and PMBOK are alternative, alternative even competitive approaches to Project competitive, Management and they need to choose between them,

Although, PRINCE2 is based on the principles ofPMBOK. PRINCE2 extracts and focuses on the elements (“components”) which it identifies as being crucial to the successful assessment and completion of a project.It constructs a process to tie those elements together to reduce overall project risk, and provides techniques to support them.
Accountable Project Board
Along with Project Managers Accountability for Success and Failure of the Project, PRINCE2 Calls for an Accountable Project Board as a part of the ORGANIZATION component helping to ensure their commitment and support to the Project Management Team with authority and powers to get the work completed.
What project management methodology do you use in a fast moving IT Infra environment?
I often work in a really fast moving environment where you always have to make a choice between a formal project management methodology and a more flexible approach; mainly for daily change requests when the client doesn’t want to have a dedicated resource (Not for the implementation of the project but for the ongoing change requests).
It’s evident that very formal procedures can drastically increase the response-time and decrease the flexibility of the services provided to the clients.
So, the question is “What project management methodology do you use in the same case?”
The PMBOK is a collection of knowledge areas and process groups. It describes what a Project Manager should know. I
would think that, in order to be effective, a project manager would
make this knowledge actionable! The PMI is very much worldwide, although more prevalent
in the Untied states. By
