Branding plays a major role for any product, so if the branding has effectiveness than the product will automatically creates goodwill in the society.

Well I guess, both goes hand in hand. If the product does not capture market need, then no matter how strong the branding be, it fails to sustain itself. On the other hand, even a good product fails if there is no strong branding (e.g. - Maruti Baleno failed to capture the market imagination due to its lack of branding. But when relaunched, with facial uplift, as SX 4 it did a very good market)
