Branding will help create a face of the product so that the target customers can associate with it. But in the end it will be product that that the customer will be buying. It functionality quality & performance will be important or the branding might get back fired.

Product Development from Concept to Reality especially in the computer industry is very challenging and all consuming and also gives immense satisfaction on completion. Besides the above mentioned personal attributes any product which is developed focussing on customer's needs will sustain the creator/instituion and or the industry it serves. Rarely do we see products created out of just ideas, and whatever is happening is mostly in the computer industry, hope more of this also happens in the consumer industry.

quality is no more myth in india u can not sell anything just by brand . i m not denying brand power but a brand cum alive 4 d customer only wen seller belive in his product dat my product is of good quality unless a seller doesnot firmly belive or make his product better brand can not be think off.devlope product it will automatically make brand cum alive 4 ur customer.

Brand comes into play only after the Product bouquet is ready to showcase! Branding is carrying forward the attributes of a physical property called Products! It has to be Product management. What would you BRAND if you do not have a physical property to attach? Unless your showcase isnt full you cannot even think of christening the case! Its classic; Who was first, the Hen or the Egg?? here its definitely the Product!

I would say that first the focus should be the product development because it is the quality of the product that will make it survive in the market but if you want to make people aware of your product and makes it look attractive to the customers then marketing,advertising all these things are necessary.So one needs to focus on both of these to make the product really successful.

According to me a brand is mainly a perception it is just the way you perceive something or someone. Thus you cannot always determine what should be your brand in the truest sense of the term. Your brand is determined by your target market. To add to this, two individuals of your target market may have completely different views about your brand. So overall product development is more important........

No i don't agree with both of them if one considers only product development it is not possible for it to succeed, so both branding and product development should go together hand in hand, and branding is the one which gets you investment coming in and with proper branding only people will associate with a particular product, so in my opinion both have their presence in the market and both is important we can't leave either of them.............
