Should we treat  Promotion as our Ultimate reward of our  Endeavor? We meet daily alot of people with abundance of potentialities ,but  in depressed  mood just because he or she has not been promoted.

IN all discussions ultimately  his failure of getting promotion pops up , The Immense potential which he still possses drains out simply in despair.

Is it fair? Does it drives any person towards positivity? Should he continue so ?

I am on this side just because, if one's effort is not getting recognised then he himself will feel down or else he might start to think even after doing so many good things, nothing is getting appreciated and there is no promotion or an appraisal for that matter, there will be no driving force for one to work anymore where there is no recognition, why is it always we should do the sacrifice, and try again and again and eventually feel bugged up and gives no option than leaving the organization, hence there should be a balance interms of recognising good work done by the employees and employees should also feel that they are also in the scheme of things...

So, I am not denying the fact that one should not feel let down if one is not being promoted, but one also should not get bogged down if the seniors are denying the good job done by you, its not the place where you want to be if things are not going according to the plan.....

Promotion, salary enhancement, benefits enhancement, spot rewards etc are all various aspects of employment that simply say - "you have done well. We trust you to look after the organization's interests in your area. Thank you and keep it up".

Nothing more. Individually they dont amount to much. But collectively they indicate a loyal employee and a caring and appreciating employer.

He should not be so emotional  about the promotion.rather he should drive his emotion towards positivity and start analyzing himself  what are his own weaknesses ,what are his strengths how he can go out of his sorrow circle and build his own confidence for next attempt.

"Promotion" word  has multiple meanings which varies with level of maturity of a person. A person at junior level asks this for financial benefits, at middle management to move into senior management for social status and power and at senior management level to take more ownership and drive the unit/division/organisation with his/her vision.

Lack of appreciation and encouragement leads to disinterest in the job sometimes. And its in human nature to expect rewards for their deeds. No one can deny that they always feel elated inside whenever someone praises them.

getting elevation in the form of promotion is the best example of ones recognisation,reward of his or her efforts,and a message that you are better than others.with promotion comes more authority,more responsibility,more accountability and obviously more money and perks.what more an employee aspires for.
