Dear friends.....

The current fiscal may bring some happiness among B-schools, as India's largest lender State Bank of India is now on a hunt to pick up B-school talents to form a new pool of bank executives. Till now the bank was mainly hiring people for clerical and probationary officers (PO) posts. The bank increased the number of hires to as many as 25,000 recruitments this year.

Really its a happy news and I think SBI is taking first step for the campus recruitment. It would be great if all the public sectors start recruiting candidates through campus interviews. This will help in bringing good educated employees for the government sector too, which I believe will make India a developed country soon.

So what do you say friends, should other government offices start recruiting employees through campus interviews ?

Yes the public sectors should start recruiting candidates through campus interviews. This will make the government sector more stable and fresh students will come up with new innovative ideas and develop the best strategy for the government. So the public sectors should understand the importance of education and should start campus interviews.....

Thanks..... :)

When the whole private sector is recruiting B-school graduates and they are getting benefited from this, why PSU banks are not doing so is very tough to understand. Private companies have grown up with these young & talented graduates and they have set-up a new benchmark by achieving their previous records. PSU’s should also give it a try & I’m sure they will also out-perform.

PSU banks must hire B-school grads as the average employee age in PSU banks is very high. Hiring fresh B-school grads will infuse new blood in the system. Infusion of fresh ideas and professionalism by hiring B-school grads will make PSU banks more competitive.

The salary structure may not be as attractive as that in other corporates, but the public sector banks allow lot of exposure and provide a good training ground," says a recruit.

PSUs coming in for Campus Recruitments that also in B-Schools I think this is going to be best news for B-School students. Till now the advantage taken by Private Players is going to be taken by Public Sectors. This will help PSUs to meet the competition and provide an excellent service equivalent to its Private Partners or Competitors. But only one firm taking a step ahead will not make much difference other PSUs should come ahead and help itself to get out of the traditional Public Sector norms, to be best to the people as at the end of the day it is publics own enterprise in quotes "Government Enterprises". Finally I will conclude that the one step taken by SBI will encourage other PSUs to get open for B-Schools directly.

yes, its a good beginning... lets see how far it goes & whats the raodmap ahead. This shows that their are some people still the the top who have got the right thinking caps on !!!

And Rajendra, right man for the right job has to be the idea and not exp v/s "MBA kids" !!!

To be honest, I don't have much faith left in most of sarkarrii naurari's but still I want to wish the students and the SBI, all the luck

I would be one of those happiest MBA kids who dreamt of working for SBI.But never appeared for PO because of fear of RESERVATION.

Its good news that PSU will consider B-school, but major concern should be that SBI should not only sticks to TOP B-School, because that will result in negligence of other B-school students and payment of heavy salary to those.

How about assigning budgets  to different regions and Regional head can decide where he/she have to hire from.

How convenient it is to blame the government.. There are flaws in government and then there were always flaws there.. now we can see them clearly because many people are coming up and giving voice to the wrong practices..
