PSU IPO's only for retail investors: Should this happen?

A primary market tracking firm Prime database said that it should allow only retail investors for PSU IPO's, taking a cue from state run NHPC's disappointing debut on the bourses the market tracking firm came at the conclusion and  said the government should consider giving shares to only retail investors in the initial public offers of PSU firms, to lower post-listing selling pressure.

So what are your views guys, should government allow only retail investors for PSU IPO's?

It would be difficult to come to a conclusion here, but what Prime database has come up with also is a good option where the PSU IPOs should be made only to the retail investors. And an only retail policy will have a major positive impact where there is  a very wide distribution reduces post listing selling pressure and many times we see large sales by institutional investors often destabilize the prices. And also by offering shares to the retail investors, the wealth created by state enterprises from domestic public resources shall be shared rightfully only with the public.  Keeping these points in mind it will be good if only retail investors are allowed to go for PSU IPO's.
