The perspectove of improvement can be judged to usage of technology for communicatrion, branding, visuals, qualification of the field personnel, business ethics, etc. This process is natural with availability of infrastructure, focussed market approach and yearly business requirements. In today's scenario, all actions are to cater to one primary objective : BOTTOM LINE of P&L. And this is how all other actions of a pharmacy professional get llinked. The difference still exists between a BPhram/MPharm graduate vs any other general line graduate although both may be involved in the same profession. Core understainding about subjects is better when its part of the curriculum and not fed into the mind by a corporate classroom training. There is a notable line of interest among the pharmacy graduates today that they prefer to be in R&D, medical stores, back-office ops, etc more often than take up the line of Med reps... they consider it too lowly for them (reasons we know of).

After the professionalization of the approach in marketing and HR to deal with personnel this is bound to increase considerably. In those days the lot was mostly with the people on the top or the owners who were ensuring the betterment. But today an entrant also comes well qualified and equipped to deal with challenges whereas in those days it was left to the lonely marketer out in the field to carry out tailor made strategies.I'm talking for period spanning 30 years plus.

Actually our system of medical services remain very bad to protect human health but also we are improving ill health to the mankind. It is to be rectified on improving perfect research skills. EVERY INCONVENIENCE NEED NOT BE A DISEASE. MAY BE SOME OTHER CAUSE. THAT SHOULD BE RECTIFIED.Otherwise the mankind ascends towards THE HELL.

SORRY. BUT I FEEL THAT DEFINETLY THE TECNOLOGY HAS PLAYED A VITAL ROLE IN THE GROWTH OF THE PHARMA INDUSTRY IN TERMS OF QUALITY & QUANTITY OF PRODUCTION BUT NOT IN TERMS OF GROOMING OF THE YOUNG PROFESSIONALS.WHAT I FEEL THAT REALLY THE QUALITY OF TRAINING BEING IMPARTED TO MEDICAL REPS HAS DEGRADED DRASTICALY.

SORRY, TECHNOLOGY IS PLAYING A VITAL ROLE IN THE GROWTH OF THE INDUSTRY BUT NOT IN THE GROOMING OF THE YOUNG PROFESSIONALS.THE QUALITY & QUALITY OF PRODUCTION MAY HAVE IMPROVED BUT THE QUALITY OF SALES REP OR MEDICAL REPS WHICH ARE SUPPOSED TO BE CRUCIAL LINK BETWEEN A COMPANY & DOCTORS HAVE DEGRADED DRASTICALLY & THE REASON WHICH I FEEL IS LACK OF ORIENTAION FOR TRAINING.

you are right the pharma industry is still recruiting non pharmacy people for the promotional activity. this actaully is misleading the things many a number of times , it is also keeping people away from joining the pharmacy profession
