There is no doubt, Recession is a scenario we never wanted to witness and perhaps many of us never imagined.

But this word is now a reality, a tough word to pronounce from heart.

But Optimists are those who find success in failures--No it is not just a proverb.

India is still a country that creates optimum condition where labor cost is low, Skills are high, Language is not a barrier and transportation is better and RAW materials are readily available.

Can't we bridge this gap?

Vibrant GUJARAT has shown us so many open doors for foreign investment in so many sectors.

Imagine few more VIBRANT GUJARATs in other states of INDIA and the collective efforts will build a "VIBRANT INDIA".

The recession demands cost optimization and India demands Foreign Investments to beat this recession.

Please let us know can recession be an OPPORTUNITY for India ?

i Agree...

This recession is a bad time in many manners...but it has shown us a way to work harder & smarter...in good times we never thought of bright ideas that we are thinking of now to save our businesses, our clients, our jobs. We are working in much smarter way now to get the business & get the work done on time. We are getting the same work done with less man & machine power, which actually is a good thing, when the good time returns. I thing the biggest thing that recession has taught us is saving time & saving money.

The resolution of converting The Recession situation into opportnity to showcase the Real Strength of India is a welcome idea.

That is the RIGHT APPROACH. With (1)Innovation in product & services (2)Reaching out to customers (3)cutting the operating costs (but not jobs), Indians can show in the difficults, we will not only survive but flourish.

But mixing this subject with Vibrant Gujarat is not appealing. Organizaing a summit, getting promises of investment proposals and advertising it as an extra-ordinary achievement!! Development/progress was never so easy.

I am a keen observer of Vibrant Gujarat peocess. I am very eager to congratulate on Vibrant Gujarat , but have patience to see this happen. When the dreams of Vibrant Gujarat take shape and justify all the attention, it is getting

This recession can be an opportunity to India. Today investors have withdrawn their money from all the emerging markets in the world. The money has not vanished overnight but it has found a safe place in their home of the investors. Now the foreign investors are finding a safe bet where they can park their money, whereby they are looking for such destinations where there is a sope for development, opportunities, talent pool, skilled workers, and enough scope of investments and India is a country which fulfill all the required aspects.

Even in this recesiin time foreign investors are bullish on India for a longer term and they belive in the Indian growth story, so just as Vibrant Gujarat proved to be a success in the hard hit recession period and gathered huge foreign investments in required sectors, similarly if we create a Brand India we can attract foreign investments in huge buckets which can be used in infrastructure and other sectors where needed.

Offcourse  recession is  just like eyecatching on markets weakness strengths. It given opportunities for middle class businessman , foreign traders and specially the Masters from buisness schools so they can easliy analyse market and make their own brand.Recssion came with lots of money, expertise, knowledge, and specially with the confidence for entreprueners who can now reach top by competing with MNCs and national companies.

An economic downturn is like a mild ice age, with the survival of the fittest. Yes it presents an opportunity for Indian services vendors to improve their market share, while forcing them to diversify and de-risk across sectors and geography. And startups of India can make most of this downturn. We have a DNA to work on extremely low budget, spending cash very conservatively. I believe that it is an opportunity for many Indian companies who have started on this model to take on the challenge and launch products onto the world market....
