Its not the respect for companies...but awareness towards job insecurity...it is partially wrong to say that recesssion helpd in gettn loyal Mployees...but it did change the attitude of employees towards the job...may be the outcome was a slight temporary change in their being loyal....

People are more cautious after terrible recession. Every employee is trying to make the best of the oppurtunites he is getting so that he can build a very good reputation among his higher officials.

Not exactly but in a way yes....

It has created space for understanding between the company and the employee. During recession many companies cut down the pay, people who worked for money left the company but the real loyal and potential employees stuck to the company...... :)

When recession hit, other than those who were not performing, the people who had difference of opinions with the management or HR have become the primary target.

Invariably, quoting Recession as an example, they all have been sent out.

So as to speak, loyalty has a meaning that "only those who do not oppose me will survive".

Recession is completely unrelated to loyalty. In my view recession is being used as a tool by employers forcing a select group of employees to leave the company and later term the mass exodus as un-loyal group and focus the entire result of non-performance on their head.


Loyalty and recession are two different aspect of functions within the org. Some companies earn huge profits during recession whereas others earn marginal.

I don't see anything like loyalty really exist in today's corporate world. Survival of the fittest is the latest mantra and loyalty seems to be a synonym of past when work ethics and policies were treated greater than profits. Loyal customers are more important and meaningful for companies than loyal employees.....

The mass or the employees who worked under salary cuts and didn't left the job can't be interperted as only  loyel people to company,there might have not left cos of many other reosons like.....

Reoson 1.possesation of understanding of the latest dangerous job cut market where working on low wages is wiser then working nowhere and having nothing .

Reoson 2.extreame need of finacial support whether  big or small ....which is there primary point of concern...
