Reliance Mobile has come up with a new VAS and has launched Job search on Mobile phone. It is said that the service will be available in India and is launched with the help of Babajob. Babajob which has been tying up with other telcom service providers for job search market and has a good penetration rate.

Currently the service would be available in five languages namely Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Tamil and English and later even in other languages also, but in an already crowded market of online Job portals it would be great to see how this Job search on Mobile phone will do.

It would be great to know from others like, Will this Job search on Mobile phone works or not? share your thoughts  on this people.

I don't think that Reliance will be doing much with this service. Most of the Reliance customers are poor people or middle class people, who are mainly into saving the money. How many of them would know this 'babajob' and subscribe to the service is a big question. There are already many players in the market like Monster,Naukri etc. What difference is shown by Reliance to attract these money savers?Customer education is a big challenge here and people often think that the service is expensive and hence avoid using it.

By applying the latest mobile technology, major elements of the recruitment process can be streamlined, providing a significantly improved experience for the candidate and the client. On a daily basis, the recruiter can export a table with all the names and numbers of contractors who have expressed an interest in the opportunity. The key issue is that the contractor can respond immediately to the advert without having to depend on a call centre or having to remember to make a call at a later time. However Completing an online registration form, for example, could be challenging using a handset with a small screen and no QWERTY keyboard. If a contractor has already registered in the past with the client or agency, the database could recognize their mobile number and pre-populate an enquiry form. Mobile technology is easy to use and popular with even the least tech-savvy groups, so it’s likely that virtually every type of contractor would be comfortable using mobile technology to find new contracts.

Well in my opinion it depends mostly on the user & his comfort to use the service on the cellphones, speed definatly will be a factor & well yes the complications in job portals & the way it comes out in cellphones will be nice thing to see.overall a good step but long way to go ahead.

Yes it will really work in future. However I think it's very difficult at present scenario because speed of internet on mobile is not very fast. Once we have very good speed on Mobile then I think it will pick up very fast.

I think this is a great way by which one can enrol himself to the job portals as everybody has mobile these days, but everybody dont't have internet connections and this is a good business model for both of them and eventually people are getting the benefits of this VAS from Reliance, and in future I think there will be more players entering this market and with so much complications in the online job portal model, and in a way this will simplify the recruitment process, where people with their skill sets mentioned not only the urban population is well tapped but also the rural market is tapped and one can get the best talents out there.  So to me this model works great.

I  agree with Mr. Abdul here and there are very less people who are using reliance connections in that regard for this to be a success and customer education is the difficult part so i don't see this will work for Reliance.
