For small buildings ,concreting is done as per requirement and availibility of labour,there are different ways to perform it,by manual mixing ,by concrete mixer -(a)volumetric(b)with weigh batcher,by concrete mixing plant.

Now a days it has become common with concrete mixers for small houses ,for 4-5 story high buildings with mixer +lift,

In multi storied buildings mixer with lift and RMC both are adopted .

Which is better 1st one or second one i.e RMC

PREFERRED BECAUSE CEMENT,WATER GRIT,SAND ETC ARE CONTROLLED WITH COMPUTER ,CAN BE DONE BY PLANT BY CARRYING 40 50 KMS,LAYING AND LIFTING CAN BE DONE BY COM PRESSURE THUS SAVING MANPOWER.ETC

support RMC , specially if you are buying from a reputed supplier like L&T,sites with tight targets of the order of 24X7 , human involvement should minimise to the extent possible, with the type of standards existing ,i would prefer RMC

There are some mixes which have to feed manually such as 1:0.95:1.75 for pre stressed concretes

although i want to support RMC plant, but this really depends on the quantity of concrete required. for a 3-4 storey building .... RMC cannot be justified ......but yes for a mega project one cant survive without RMC Plant.

Mr. Dixit as far as computer is concerned in RMC plant, well just to share information with you, that the computer which may be on automatic mode can be override and things can be mixed in the ratio  that suits the owner of the plant.

Depends on the type of work for works involving huge quantity of concrete RMC is advisable whereas for minor works mixer would serve the purpose.

In present day city life, mainly in metros, people live mainly in flats. In that case, Mixer with lift is better than RMC. So, as per the present consequences, I would prefer Mixer with lift rather than RMC.
