Congress Gen Secretary & the Gandhi Scion has called the Rashtriya SwayamsevaK Sangh's ideology to be 'fanatic' & 'fundamentalists', and even compared it with 'SIMI', which was banned due to its terrorist activities & for its affiliation with 'anti- national' terror outfits like LeT, by the Govt Of India , & it is still blackballed...

What's your take guys; should the two be compared?

Well it was Mr Nehru, (then Prime Minister; from the same party & from the same family from where Mr R. Gandhi belongs) who had himself invited the same org. to take part in 26th Jan. parade in Delhi; recognizing & praising the volunteers for their self sacrificing contribution in Sino-India war-62.

Though the org. has been banned thrice since 1925 when it was founded, for its alleged, 'fundamentalists' views & approach; but it's also known for its role in the relief and rehabilitation work during natural calamities and for running more than 100,000 service programs in education, health care, rural development etc. works (to quote Wikipedia).

Some of its critics argue & suspect for the people behind the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi, to be affiliated to the 'pariwar'; on the other hand 'Bharat Ratna' & noted 'Gandhian' Dr. Bhagwan Das commended the role of the RSS in protecting the newly formed Republic of India, from a planned coup to topple Jawaharlal Nehru Administration in Delhi. (to quote Wiki again)

So there may be lot of controversies,,,but i personally don't justify it to be compared with anti-national terror outfits; 'fundamentalism' & 'fanaticism' surely are two different words!

Thanks Ujjwal for refer,

A naive can surely make any comparisons.

In any case self seekers can never understand the meaning of "Ek Rashtra, Ek Dhaara"or "one nation one rule", as it is against the practiced principle of divide and rule.

And the party he belongs is known for highest collection of persons, who keep talking of secularism yet fanning communal divide all through to remain in power.

I have to agree with Navjoth Singh Siddhu when he said “Rahul Gandhi needs to go back to school again to learn the basic lesson”. Rahul proves his immaturity and ignorance by such comments. That’s why I quote Shakespeare here as, some are born great, some achieve greatness and on some greatness is thrust upon. Rahul Gandhi falls in the latter category.

Now the comparison:

SIMI, Student Islamic movement in India, which was established in 1977, but due to its constant terror breeding activities it is banned by the Supreme court from 6th august 2008. As it is suspected that it has links with al-Queda and it was also responsible for 2008 blasts in Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Delhi. The reason for esatblisihing SIMI was “The stated mission of SIMI is the ‘liberation of India’ from Western materialistic cultural influence and to convert its Muslim society to live according to Muslim code of conduct” as per the founder President Mohammad Ahmadullah Siddiqi, who now has conveniently moved to become a professor of Journalism and Public Relations at Western Illinois University in Macomb, IL.

RSS on the other hand Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh, established pre-independence in 1925, by a Nagpur Doctor Hedgewar, as a social, cultural organization in British India,to oppose British colonialism in India and Muslim separatism. It was banned 3 times,by Govt’ of Inida, first, by the British govt, then in 1948, and again in 1984, when it was the only active organization who were giving food and medical aid to the Sikhs, during the anti-sikh riots. Agree with Ujjval here that at times they have shown immaturity, but they have not been arsenal like SIMI, in breeding terror.

Tnx Ujjval for the ref.

Barring hard core Hindutva agenda ,which scares minorities,Comparison of RSS with SIMI with same scale should be avoided.
